Copywriting is the use of words to promote a person, business, opinion or idea

Now don't go over to Google and search for "what is copywriting" to see if I stole that definition from Wikipedia. I didn't, I swear!

Is it article rewriting? No. Not at all. Far from it. As different as bicycles are from mackerel.

Copywriting in it's purest form is salesmanship-in-print. Words designed to sell goods, products and services.

Once I came to one marketing company for an interview on copywriting position.
It turned out they needed just someone to generate loads of seo articles to dump into the internet.

Those guys also seriously thought copywriting is rewriting.
Pity.

Copy writing is salemanship in print. It's making a compelling pitch to get someone to take an action you desire whether it's opting in, buying etc.

You should use the principles of copy writing in all your marketing efforts from blog posts to articles. That's my opinion anyway and it works for me.
