Write articles? Looking for some beta testers.

Hopefully it's alright to post this here. If not, feel free to move it to another section or otherwise let me know.

I have been arduously working on developing my WordHire project. It's a platform that allows people to write articles for money as well as allows people looking for website content to buy articles.

Everything is done on a per word basis, so writers are paid by the word and buyers pay by the word.

I am finally at the point where I can get some writers in the system to start writing articles so that they can make some money and at the same time provide some feedback to me on what features they would like to make the process easier or better for them.

Writers receive 2 cents per word and are paid on a weekly basis via PayPal or Check (your preference) and would of course be paid for their work while testing.

I think that this is a solid way for people that are familiar with writing articles to make some cash as well as a great way for new people to business to make some immediate income for their effort while honing their skills for their own endeavors. My goal here is to make this accessible to anyone that would like to make some extra cash in their spare time. You don't have to be a pro at writing articles.

There is also a really great affiliate program in place on top of all of this but at the current time I am only looking for writers to ensure that content is turned around quickly.

This is really interesting. How will you protect the buyer from paying for a flowery paragraph when it would have been more appropriate to just pay for a bud?

Sorry for the late response. There was a bad storm here and fried my cable internet and I was pretty much out of commission for the weekend.

As far as protecting buyers is concerned, human review is the best protection that I can give to a buyer. Aside from my own experience of writing articles over the past couple of years, I also have a couple of technical writers at my disposal to help out in the event that I am unsure about something.

The buyer also has the responsibility of stating what they want from it. They have the ability to enter in keywords as well as a description for each individual topic if they wish to. This is to be used as a guideline for the article creation in and of itself and while reviewing articles this is all taken into consideration.

I just signed up and it looks to be a great way for people to make some extra cash.

One question though...

What if I start writing an article, submit it, and the article had just been finished by somebody else?

You should make it so that if we agree to write an article - it's therefore off-limits to anybody else and maybe we'd have a certain time frame in which we needed to finish it.

This is actually being addressed as I type this.

A topic reserve system is being put into place that will allow a writer to reserve 1 topic for 24 hours. This should be ample time to research/write an article at their leisure.

If the 24 hours expires the topic is available again for anyone.

If they submit the article for the topic that is reserved they are allowed to reserve another.

Writers will also have the ability to 'release' their reserved topic and reserve another at any time.

This is actually being put in at this very moment and we're working on fixing some bugs so that it's working as intended.

Perhaps the page error that you are getting while trying to sign-up again is perhaps due to using the same information?

Is anyone having issues updating their account info. First I couldn't get past the captcha. no matter what I did it said I failed. then after our generous friend made an account for me, I signed in and wanted to update my info. I tried on firefox and it did nothing. So I tried in IE7 on windows. It throws javascript errors. so I tried in Ubuntu Linux and nothing. So I tried at a completely different computer and on IE6 and it kept giving me runtime errors as I filled in the form. It even gave me a runtime error filling out the contact form. And in both cases nothing worked.....anyone??? Furstrating! I know I'm nnot dense and my computer is updated and what not......I really want to do this as all I do is write. But I'm stumped as to what I can do to help out....

I am honestly unsure as to why you're having problems. Everything you have stated that you are having problems with other people have done just fine. I've gone through everything that you are having issues with in IE and FF and have had no problems...

Hey Darren,

Noticed you signed up as a buyer. While it's functional, I personally don't feel it is optimal quite yet. You would be welcome to trying it out and helping me understand what could be added to the buyers side of things to help you and other potential buyers get the most out of their money.

Any suggestions for features or critique on what's there would be appreciated.

I signed up and everything seems to work find and it is very easily navigable. I have a few questions though.
1. Is there going to be anything besides the mortgage and financing articles?
2. Is there going to be a place where subjects of articles to be wrote will be available?

I realize that these my kind of be hand in hand, but the difference being that the first would be you are offering the subjects the other would be that the users would be offering things that could be wrote about.
Something like they offer the subject you approve it and they get the first 24 hours to themselves then at this time it would go back into your pool of subjects.

Hey Mike,

1. I only have one buyer in the system right now and all they are interested in are finance related stuff. Niches will start opening up as more buyers enter into the system.

2. I'm not too certain what you mean by this. If I read it correctly, what you're asking is already there.

As far as having writers propose what to write about, I don't think it's the best business model out there. Besides, there's already services out there that allow you to write whatever and put your content out there hopeing someone would come along and buy it....there is no guarantee that someone will though that's the thing.

Which is why I made wordhire...a way to make sure people get paid for the work that they do.

I signed up to test it out for you, too. I have IE6 and it worked just fine for me. I like the way you designed the system. I would have even snatched up some of the articles also, but I'm in the middle of a project and need to finish that one for my existing client first.

Did you change the pay? I could have sworn the first time I read your first post it said a different amount.

I just had some questions which you answered or at least answered why, and I very much Thank You for that. I will be watching your service for the subjects that I will feel more comfortable writing about and I hope your idea thrives and surpasses your own expectations. I found that if I changed one line of info at a time and then pressed 'save', it worked. Takes a few minutes, but at least it takes.

I did that and was told to fill in the confirm password which I did. Then I entered the captcha. I hit save. It seems to reload the page with the confirm password field empty and doesn't give me an error.

Hey everyone.

Just want to say thanks for the help thus far. You all have really gone above my own expectations and have motivated me even further to make this system as good as I possibly can.

At this point people are free to sign up if they wish as a writer, but there is not too much to write about since everyone has gone through quite a few topics in the past few days!

I will continue to work on the writers side of things (a couple of things need to be fixed/added) but will start focusing more on the buyer and affiliate side of things so that I can be in a position to start advertising for more buyers to fill the system for the writers out there.
