Default Video, Written or Both - What do you like?

Hi Everyone

Just wanted people's opinion on the use of video landing pages. Mainly in the domain of CB products and internet marketing products.

I see a lot of people making the jump to a video only landing page, but I also see people with the video up the top and then the written copy below.

I would be interested to hear people's opinions on the pro's and cons of each.

Thanks
LR

Hi LR,

People's opinions don't matter.

All you need to do is TEST both against each other to get the right answer

Best of Luck,

Justin

correct, opinions dont mean jack. you can't cash them.... but to save you some frustration, video on squeeze pages has, in every single test i've done.... sucked.

do not use video on your squeeze page.

Well,

I'd say try both written sales letters, and a "sales video".
I say "sales video" ... because it shouldn't come across as a sales video ...

but it still needs the "sales letter" (or copywriting) elements.

And like everyone else will tell you here test-test-test like Justin says ...

But. If you have a crappy video ... expect crappy results.

I've found short, sharp & straight to the point videos work best now
that everyone is getting use to (or pissed off with) sales videos.

Dont go blabbing on about who you are, and how you did this and that,
failed and farted then amazingly you got these awesome results with your wonderful widget.

If you do, do it just like that. short, sharp & straight to the point.

(Although I'd recommend saying that stuff in your written copy, if people are interested ... they'll stop scanning and read it)

But the majority of "viewers", just want the MEAT.
So give em the meat in the videos ...

and serve the sides, salads, meat, desert and wine (the whole meal) in the written version.

In the video tell em,
  • This is what I got,
  • This is what it does (and how it makes your life easier or better)
  • And this is how to get it.
Now every video I create is not perfect ... but creating your
video ... getting it up there, testing ... getting feedback, then making improvements later ...

now that's what it's all about.

But like the boyz say ...

it's all just our opinions... at the end of the day it's good to get
a huge collection of opinions, then rip the good stuff, from the crap and form your own conclusion based on what makes sense for you & your business.

all the best mate,

- aj

I'm looking for an Article to video software that I don't have to pay monthly membership fees for. Can anyone point me in the right direction, where I can find such a software as this?

The response rate really depends on the niche. Personally, I prefer to see both because I can scan the content and if it seems interesting I will watch the video.

It will depend on your audience, but if you're selling a service that is delivered by the person who will be in the video (coaching training etc) having a video builds the trust and know factor for audiences wanting a personal connection in their "mentor".
