I'm itching to watch a video put out by Chris Haddad... ...but I can't download the friggin Adobe Flash Player...Arrggh! It got stripped with everything else to upgrade for my fancy new software. I was told this week I'm the only guy out of 400 buyers of this piece of geekware, that gets the basic set up wrong. I gotta tell ya, comments like that don't sooth my frayed nerves! Anyway, have you guys and girls been hiding a word magician under your hat? C'mon now, we want to know who these guys are...so we can get our grubby hands on their secrets. I tell you what, I'll show you mine, then you show me [and the others here]. Deal? OK, here's what Chris Haddad's got... Oh Bye the way, John Carlton is promoting him to his list. "Sneaky Secrets To Banish The Blank Page Blues FAST . . . and how to "brain dump" hooks, bullets and cash-pulling copy ideas out onto the page without even touching your keyboard. My patented "If/Then/WHY" technique for coming up with a hot and solid "hook" FAST . . . (no more sweating and swearing at the computer screen. Play this little "game" and you'll have the "big idea" of your sales letter, sales video or email in SECONDS.) Why writing your headline first is the WORST thing you can do . . . and the one part of your sales message you should ALWAYS come up with FIRST to pump out your sales letter or sales video in just a couple short hours (instead of a days or WEEKS like everybody else has to do.) BIG PROMISE TO YOU: Watch this video and you'll NEVER look at "writing" with the same level of fear, awe or dread again. Ask any top copywriter and they'll tell you that good copy is FAST COPY . . . Simply enter your email address and I'll get you up to "Speed" right away." Got the video. Watched. Pretty good. But...he lost me a bit at the 5 minute mark when he suggested recording your copy...and then getting someone to transcribe it. Has he not heard of voice-recognition software like "Dragon Naturally Speaking"? The rest of it is helpful. Well worth watching. Good stuff! Gets The Copy Nazi's swastika stamp of approval. (watch the flak fly after that comment)

Ken McCarthy is well known, so I can't say he's flying under the radar. However, he changed the autoresponder series that promotes his copywriting course (since I last saw it). Some good content. If you haven't seen it, here's the opt-in ... The System Mike Jezek is well-known in some circles, but if you haven't heard of him, you'll enjoy reading his articles. Some very good stuff at this link ... Copywriting for Websites, Direct Mail, Sales Letters & Magalogs Alex |

On a semi-related note, did we ever puzzle out who it was that did the copy for that crappie fishing monster piece that surfaced last year? I only go outdoors to take out the garbage, or if my house is on fire, and I *still* almost bought that thing.

That'll be Ben Settle writing the sales piece for Ken, wouldn't it? I found Mike Jezek to be too heavy on mind tricks for me. He's getting great results for his clients though. Thanks for passing on the good stuff. Best, Ewen
