hahahaha. wait, if you try to leave, you'll see an upsell where you can buy a guide that tells you about a secret website where you can watch millions of videos for free, just like Ken's.

and the good news is, it's just $67.

Nothing new, sure. But the combo of the drop shadow(?) of the highlighted words and the grey text...I don't know...call me an easy target, but I think it looks great. And it totally reminds me of the design format of the Cosmo and Men's Health headlines right up to the paint-brush ends of the highlighter. (And those magazines' headlines work obviously.)

That font...anyone know? Appears "simple and standard" but darn if that design doesn't work on me.
I thought the exact same thing. I'm a huge fan of the textual design. Nicely done. I didn't like the style per say, of the video... But the production and simple elements that were used gave it a subtle polish.

ORLY? Ok, bye.

I really hate that patronizing and offending style and the "guru secrets" thing is really old. I think he really overdid it here, thousands per day secrets and whatnot for $47? Who are you kidding. It's really getting out of hand with this stuff, more and more hype yet the same lame old crappy products.

Have to agree about the typography though, looks nice.

Any ad that generates 50+ comments in 36 hours is probably a good ad.

That so many here had strong negative responses to it means it is likely moving the people it's actually targeting to action.

Personally, I think it's a hoot. Yes, there are inconsistencies, but it's whipping up such an emotional froth, the target audience will either look past them or not even notice.

Interesting.

It's not bad, that's for sure.

Personally... I would have thought it a bit over-the-top.. a little TOO harsh in the "you suck" kind of thing.

But maybe that's stylistic... or maybe changing that would boost conversions even more.

One thing is for sure...

...Steve knows EXACTLY what he's doing when it comes to marketing, as the figures attest to.

Oh baby, are they ever! Three of the foods I love the best: steak, cheese, and good bread. Now if someone will batter one and deep-fry it, I think I'll have the perfect food.

BTW, I'm on a diet (lost 29 pounds in the past five weeks), so they're out for now.

I've heard, though I can't confirm, that the refund rate is very high across the board. Again, that's just "the word".

Refund rates are always high for blind copy. It's a numbers game. It all hinges on the fact that a certain percentage won't refund, otherwise, these types of projects simply wouldn't fly.

If you ask me, and again this is nothing to do with the particular product or person, but these kinds of practices/websites/sales letters are going to clamped down on in years to come.

Even though they seem to turn a blind eye, I bet Clickbank has got plans to clean up their refund rates. They're a slow beast, but I'm almost certain it's damaging their business in more than one way.

Yeah, it makes them money, but so did counterfeit products for eBay, until it started screwing with their reputation.

LMAO. Love this! Love it. My thoughts exactly.

I know what this chump is trying to do with the sales page. It's a psychological persuasion technique called "indifference," I wrote about it in 21 Immutable Laws of Persuasion...the Rich Jerk uses it too.

Problem is he's not doing it right, he's just being an arrogant $#*$. I doubt the page is converting very well and I bet my babymakers he's got an off the charts return rate.

I have no doubt that it is converting very well. I also have no doubt that the return rate is very high. An effective sales page doesn't equal a good sales page. Personally, I'd rather build a long-term relationship with my buyers, not piss them off because I dissed something like CB in my sales video then start the course off by telling them to go sign up for a CB account.

It is pretty in your face but... For most of the IM niche this is what they have gotten used to. Clickbank/Google and stuff like that over reharshed garbage again and again.

I have no idea what the product is nor will I buy it unless someone uses it and can tell me a bit more about it. (Don't like wasting my time)

But it actually does a good job of getting your attention and pushing those buttons for many IM affiliates and marketers out there.

It's not special software that makes them look good, it's a skilled hand on the mouse.

I was one who returned it. I also got a phone call from "someone" representing Commission Crusher. This was almost comical! The guy asked if I had purchased software online before. I said 'yes, in the last 6 months quite a bit.' I also said that I probably won't be buying so much in the future. I mentioned that I started reading Warrior Forum and he hung up on me!

The genius in this sales letter is that it creatively breaks a few rules ... and gets away with it.

For example, it starts off with a negative statement, that grabs you by the ears and makes you either listen or ... slaps you-up-side the head and makes you click away.

But either way if you listen you'll probably read most of the letter and if you quickly click away the writer isn't talking to you anyway.

The writer seems to know how to strategically thumb his nose at many traditional copy writing rules - while still holding the attention of his target market.

The writers love me or hate me ... "no middle ground style" can be appealing to many. Much like Charlie Sheen, Terrel Owens or Lady Gaga. He's taken the "shock jock" approach and adapted it to a sales letter. That usually takes more guts than brains in my opinion but sometimes it works and when it does it works big.

As a result this letter will attract either rabid fans or rabid haters, no on the fence people here. I believe that's sits fine with the writer. I just wonder if the end product delivers on all those promises.

This thread can go on for miles, but here's the real question: where will this guy be in one year?

Random thoughts:

Its incongruous to bash clickbank while selling a clickbank product and using clickbank income proofs.

Interesting pitch. I don't think Steve used his usual copywriter for this one.

The takeaway selling isn't done as well as it could be, too insulting and too early.

He should have gotten a voice artist for the video.

I actually like the graphic layout of the page, I like the way the video is done. It's very slick but there's too much highlighting and the subheads are too damn big.

I stole the background image pattern

I think it will sell well.
Hahahahha I stole the image too

BTW if anyone wants it, view the source and search for "bg". First result is the link to the image. Wait... is this legal?

I was personally turned off by the letter itself. It's interesting that it works and the people comparing it to "The Rich Jerk" is like apples/orange IMO.

Why? TRJ used a cartoon character... Kelly Felix himself said that he did it because he didn't want his customers to think he was really a "jerk". It was a fun, fresh (and effective) marketing ploy that got tons of recognition for it.

The "Commission Crusher" just sounds like a tool because hes actually seriously insulting the prospect.

Whatever works

It just doesn't float my boat though.

It looks one of the first sites which I've stumbled upon while discovering about internet marketing. No chance I would purchase this though.

The whole copy is superficial and insulting to ones intelligence most of the time. From a copywriter's point of view, it's worth studying and one can actually observe that the copy is indeed very well made if you take account his target audience - lazy, broke kids as someone on the forum very well put it. It's selling like crazy too, good for him.

However, in this slew of regurgitated and over-diluted crap out there when will be really be able to find a product that actually is innovative and financially lucrative? Hard question to answer on a forum filled with affiliate marketers hehehe
