Can You Please Help Me?

Hi,

I have spent the last 6 months putting Wordpress Plugins | Fruity Plugins together. It is really a great Wordpress plugin, set to become a brilliant plugin.

I really need YOUR help to increase the number of downloads. Is it the copy? The plugin? Does it do enough? Does it do too much? Are people confused? Does it need a new sales letter?

I don't know. What I do know is that sometimes you can get so darn close to a thing you can't see the wood for the trees. So, I need some wood spotters. Please help.

Would appreciate any and all advice. I'll even give a free Upgrade key to everyone who replies. Thanks, Allen

Hi Allen,

I don't blog, so I'm not familiar with plugins or what they do.
However, when I clicked through to your site, I didn't see a benefit your plugin could do for me. I also couldn't find any info for newbies (ie: folks that are not familiar with plugins, like me).

A few things...

1) That burgundy background kept calling my attention. However, you have nothing there you want clicked.

Solution: Only use a strong color that pulls someone's eyes if you have something there you want them to take action on. For example, ads you want clicked or notices you want read.

2) Write a better headline; Highlight the benefits of your plugin. Again, I don't use WP or Blog (just yet), but I am familiar with it.

Solution: Tell folks what your plugin can do for them. Highlight the benefits first. Make them more prominent. Include them in your headline.

3) Your font size - at least on my pc - appears very small.

Solution: Use larger text.

You should show the benefits first before talking about opt-ins.

Not exactly sure what it does, or if there would be an interest in it.

Exactly what I don't want users to see on my blog. You've got some work to do.

Next, because you did a horrible job of explaining what it is, the links were almost useless as I didn't know what I was looking for. My guess is it's the slot machine.

I played. I earned one point. ...Now what? This seems a pointless waste of time with zero relevance for the site hosting the plugin.

Of course, you are right. But we are also number one for 'fruity plugins', so it suggests that we might be on to something. 635 mentions in Google is no mean feat either from a standing start. Either way, I have stopped actively promoting Fruity at the moment because I realized that it was good, but not great. I know what I need to do to make it great and when it is finished, I think it will satisfy ALL of your concerns. In the meantime, if you'd like an upgrade key to test it out, please let me know.
