Ask yourself, why would anyone buy from me? There isn't much of a reason as the page stands now.

First, get a compelling headline up there that appeals to drummers. Make it benefit-oriented. You might go with something like peace of mind. What musician wouldn't have confidence and peace of mind knowing s/he has every imaginable sound effect needed for the show or whatever...

Then get some sample drum audio clips so your visitors can kick the tires a bit. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I admit my copy needs some work. As far as the samples, try clicking the square pads

Awesome website... If I were in the position of an aware prospect, I would buy that..Now if I wasn't hip to the new technology but still compassionate enough to want to spend money on something related to drumming and I were a drummer... I'd walk away and be really confused at what I just saw....

    "Best drums I've ever used."
    DJ Moc
Realize that when some people read that.. they think physical drums dude.
    "My new secret weapon..."
    NS1
Secret weapons are cool. But why and what's it going to do?Kill my competitors? My dog? People again, might be unaware.

    What's in the Kit?

    • 500 Snares
    • 300 Kicks
    • 100 Hi-Hats
    • 100 Toms
    • 100 Breaks
    • 80 Cymbols
    • 55 Rim Shots
    • 100+ bonus sample
    and this is just atrocious.

Best I can do for now..

    -Ross

Thanks, Ross. How do you suggest I fix the "What's in the kit" section other than a list? Maybe those little musical notes are too repetitive?

That's tough for me..I'm not privy on the drum kit scene. Cool stuff.. I would suggest reading around forums.. get into the shoes of your prospect... both the unaware and aware. It just not complete but I really like it.

Thanks! Also, in regards to the yellow call-to-action "instant download" button...I don't mention a price until the user gets to the shopping cart? I originally had a price but was told to remove it because customers weren't ready yet...? What are your thoughts?

I just realized that was an MPC .. One of my friends from highschool sits in his room, smokes a lot of pot and makes beats with that thing ALL day..there's an image for ya. I should show it to him and see what he thinks.. You really want to have someone in your target market look at it. I think that the instant download button works up until they get slapped in the face with an invoice.. not really instant at that point.

Ross, lol on both parts. That would be great if you could give him a look, preferably when he is high and in a creative state of mind Hey, perhaps smoke pouring in from the corners of the screen would add a nice subliminal effect..Then again, maybe these guys need a slap in the face to sober 'em up!

Interesting idea! What if I have a contest for people to submit their beats that were made with my sounds? The lucky winner gets $500 or something like that. Obviously I would financially engineer it to work.

Try to jump into the middle of a conversation happening between your prospect and the product... The real benefits... create a little story.. It needs something more.. Stories influence people... just listing whats in the kit isn't going to cut it.. This style landing page would be pefect for video sales letter. Id show it too him but I haven't been in touch with him lately. It has a lot of potential because MPC are expensive and my friend is really compassionate for it, spends all kinds of money with it.

      Hey Merkin,
As an ex-studio engineer I get it - it's obvious that the guys here are not your target - so maybe they don't.

Label the pads e.g Phat Kik, Dirty Snare - you kno - down wiv da kids bro

It was not obvious to me that I should click on a pad to hear a sample.
The text that says "Click the pads to sample the sounds!" could be bigger.
Maybe the graphics representing the pads could look more like actual pads.

Test putting the price on the page by the download button - doesn't seem expensive for 1400+ samples.

On the whole I personally like the look of it...

Oh 'cymbols' should be spelt 'cymbals'

      Regards,
      K

P.S. When I clicked a pad firefox prompted me to install plug-ins.
Just had a look using an old version of IE and it does something horrible to the transparancy around the img's - but the samples played without prompting for plug-ins

Says the gentleman over there, the ex-studio engineer.

I don't think anyone ever made the claims you've implicated in your response.

No offence intended to you or anyone else Ross.

IMO the quality of the samples and the price will either sell it or not. That's all the end user will care about - again InMyOpinion.

I still play around with this type of tech but nowadays mostly only for my own amusement.
I would NOT buy a sample library based on a back-story.

          Do they sound good?
Are they good value for money?

Maybe this is only temporary, but if I click on the button that says Free Sounds, I end up on a page on MegaUpLoad.com that says:

File name: ProAudioSounds.com Free Sounds.zip Download link: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
    File description: ProAudioSounds.com Free Sounds
    File size: 635.04 KB

And then there is a section on Premium Membership and Free Membership -- Now here is what I was thinking -- "I selected FREE Sounds"... oh that must be the same thing as "Free Membership", what can I get for "Premium Membership".... why is it talking about Uploads?

The reason it is talking about uploads is because I'm on MegaUpLoad.com, not ProAudioSounds.com -- but actually taking the user over to the other website I think is going to confuse them.

You would be better off asking for their email address and then email them the FREE download information. That way you have their email address and can offer them paid products.

For me,the site looks really cool, but cool can't unfortunately take the place of a sales letter. The 'details' box doesn't seem to help and it's not big enough.

Here are some of the questions that I asked your site without satisfying answers:

Any live samples apart from the free downloads? I saw the pads alright, i do not have the required plugins, what plugin do I use and where do i get them. For example, some sites tell me to get the latest flash player and they provide me with a link. The question is how are you making this process any easier for your visitors?

How much do I pay and why should I buy from you?

Any alternative besides paypal? For example, my country is currently not accredited by paypal.

Where in the world is Sarah? your live chat should be more honest, if there's no one there, it should state it, something in the lines of 'No one available to speak to you right now' or something more courteous.

And you should use more symbolic images instead of the pads, a nice drum or whatever you think is appropriate or the accepted symbol of those sounds.

Finally, for a $19.99 kit, you need a sales page, you could hire a copywriter or you could learn how to write one. You could put one up at your site and the other on paypal.

Hope I have been helpful? wish you the best.
