Default Educated Opinions Please on Some Sales Copy

There's not a lot I don't like about this sales page.

What do y'all think?

I like the amount of comments that are posted, but they need some verification that they are real. In terms of photos of other users or just a picture of themselves.

Besides that, it's written more in an article way than a salescopy would be. It not that compelling and inviting how it should be.

Cheers,

First impression: It does a good job of building interest and desire. The news channel format is probably effective, at least for the first few seconds, of letting it slip under the ad radar. By the time the average reader figures out something is being sold, the emotional buttons have already been pushed. But they think, "Hey, it's cheap, and this could really work for me."

PROBLEM: this has been built up as an inexpensive and effective solution. If you read the fine print at the bottom of the page (which few will) you learn that after the trial you will be autobilled $150+ per month.

But wait...there's more. The last sentence on the page says, "The depictions on this page are fictitious and indicitive of potential results. Actual results may vary. This website receives compensation for clicks and or purchases made."

Translation: Silly old wrinkly cow! We lied to you. We just hoped you wouldn't read this far. But the products work. Really. We promise.

Even if the products work, there are going to be lots of consumers upset over being played. Advertisers who stoop to these methods make life harder for us all.

I pretty much want to beat the crap out of whoever put this together.

The good thing is it looks credible at first and no matter what you click-leads to that story but unfortunately... all testimonials and proof is completely fake and even says it like mentioned above(in fine print at bottom).

Even the reporter is actually fake and they used a last name of another reporter from channel 7 but those 2 reporters are fake. Looks like they are doing the old get the money in and run kinda thing.

I don't know the company, but I'll take a wild guess and say everyone gets autobilled even if they cancel. Kinda like the berry scam that used the same concept with fake reporters and pretend credibility and kept charging people month after month, even after they stopped.

Here's the article I found on similar situation and probably same company http://www.powersupplements.com/blog...omment-page-2/

People that set that site up should be shut down immediately.

If they think that disclaimer is going to save them from the wrath of the FTC they are sorely mistaken.

I'm unconcerned about the niceties of the offer, since it isn't mine, but only the perceived effectiveness of the copy and format by the members of this forum. I do value the opinions expressed here.

Here's what I like about it:

It uses video very effectively, I think, to support the copy.

It doesn't look like a sales page. It's visually pleasing.

It gets the sales message across effectively, using language that most would not perceive as sales copy -- a plus, in my opinion.

Newspaper advertorials were, and still are, effective direct sales tools. As the new media takes further hold. I believe we will see even more variations on this form.

Oh my God, and I was one of the suckers who fell for that scam
(sigh, I DIDN'T read the small print) and it took me nearly 6 months to get my money back from my chargecard who filed a complaint against the company. Oww!
