Default I need something to sell

Hi guys. Me again.

I need something to sell.

I know I just started a thread about never $100 sales pages...but that doesn't mean I wouldn't do a $200 sales page.

I want to write copy and try to sell something, but I don't want to build an entire website and spend years learning affiliate marketing. I just want to test my copywriting skills and track conversions.

I don't want to just practice writing, because I know how to do that. I want to practice "selling" and I want to start asap.

I believe that for every 4 hours of study there should be 8 hours of application.

So I'm sort of stumped.

Am I going to have to get on WSO and offer a $200 sales page?

You could partner up and ghost write sales pages for me for all kinds of things, and earn yourself a percentage of profits to create a long term residual income so that you can sell sales pages for any price anytime, to get more clients and make an extra buck....

I thought "people kept hiring you"?

A tad silly to start one thread telling people how you don't work for cheap... and insinuate how "in demand" you are...

...then start another one lamenting you're not actually working.

Because if you're willing to stretch the truth on one issue...

...it stands to reason you'll probably stretch it on others too...

...and that probably won't sit well with clients, you know?

Head on over to Ali Baba, find yourself a product and sell it. They pay an 8% commission via CJ for starters.

I'm not in high demand. I just won't work for nothing.

Thanks for the tip though.

If you're good, buy some PLR products and rewrite the letters,
since PLR salesletters range from awful to decent, but seldom
is the copy robustly persuasive.

You can't sell non-original PLR products on the WSO board,
but you can sell them in all sorts of other ways.

Seriously?

Ok, do this. It's free.

Go to the JV section.

Write the best copy you've ever written in your life.

Your offer: "I'll re-write your copy free, on any product that has at least 6 months sales history. If I beat your current control by a statically significant amount you pay me $450.00, and give me a testimonial"

Compare number of views the thread gets to number of requests you get to re-write copy.

You now know how well that sales letter converts.

If you are worth your salt you make money. If not you don't. Either way you get practice with feedback.

Occasionally Relevant.

How does one go about promoting these products? Does a copywriter just re-write the copy and send it to the client, or does the copywriter take on a web hosting role and manage the sell site himself?

I ask this because I'm a beginning copywriter and at the moment I'm really doing only writing. Do I also have to learn web hosting and affiliate marketing? I'd like to write for affiliate marketing, but I would want only to work as a freelance writer and not so much as a marketer.

But if I must, do I have to learn affiliate marketing?

I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

When you buy a PLR product, you get the rights to change it anyway you want and sell it as your own. You also get a sales letter which, as Loren said, is usually not very good.

So you'd rewrite the sales letter, upload it to your own website (it's best to buy a new domain name that's congruent with the product), and then drive traffic to it.

All the sales are yours to keep. (It's not affiliate marketing.)

A lot of PLR is just crap, so be careful what you buy. You want it be of real value to your customers.

Okay, thanks.

Do PLR buyers hire out freelance copywriters to write the copy? Because I'm interested in turning an online product around, but I don't want to invest and get entangled in managing the online package.

Hi Sebastion
I think A PLR product would be perfect for you. THe Great thing about PLR is most of the work is done for you the only thing you have to do is get the traffic. I have a lot of products that I have made that I sell PLR rights to and the all software/ webscripts or wordpress plugins. If you PM me I could sort you out with some. mine already have the websites sales letters and videos and wordpressthemes all done but you can change the slaes letter if you want

Its great if you are just starting out and looking to practice with generating traffic and building a list.
