Default Finding my way around

Hi Everyone
I am new to the forum.
I think I have forum phobia. Evertime I join one, a forum that is, I read through the threads
but I become so overwhelmed I do not know where to start. I end up leaving the forum without posting or contributing.
I am never sure if I can just comment on other threads.
It does feel like I am intruding on a private conversation.

The weird thing is that I am not normally shy I can and do strike up conversations with anyone on just about any topic

.
It would be really good if there was an Introduce yourself Page.

Anyway - I know I have lots to learn so I do hope I get lots of encouragement and welcomes from all the other warriors.

Afterall I took my first step and posted this.

Thanks
Kay

Hi Kay-
Welcome. Everyone's new for a while. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish and I understand that you may not be sure either. When asked, a lot of people say, I want to make money online. That's way too vague.

There are a few things that are essential to Internet Marketing (IM). Ideally, one must have a decent product or service to market. You don't have to create products yourself. You can outsource their creation or you can partner with the creator of an already-successful product as an affiliate and collect a percentage of any sales you make. This might be the best thing to do for someone new to IM.

Regardless of whether you create your own product, hire someone to create it for you, or partner with someone as an affiliate, you need to get people to look at your product. More specifically, you need to drive targeted traffic to a site where people can see your offer. There are dozens of ways to generate traffic.

Most discussions here and on the other boards revolve around these topics.

In my experience, the best approach for anyone new to all of this is to first figure out what you want to do, then find people who are already doing it and then ask, ask, ask. I think you'll find most people here will go out of their way to be helpful. It's also a good idea to hold your money close until you do figure out your business strategy. There are many ways to market products online and a lot of them are inexpensive or even free.

After you've adopted a reasonable plan, stick with it and work smart. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
