Post One for your swipe file ...

Everybody has their favorites -- and that doesn't change even when you become one of the top names in your industry.

Take Clayton Makepeace, for example.

Clayton is widely recognized as one of the top copywriters and direct response marketers in the business today. Bob Bly and AWAI have called him "America's highest-paid copywriter" -- and justly so.

Back when I worked for him, I watched Clayton's copy pull in as much as $1.5 million in a single day. And you can rest assured that translated into a pretty hefty royalty paycheck.

But I'm getting sidetracked ...

My point is that even Clayton has his favorite copywriters. And one of them is Eric Betuel.

When Clayton found himself too busy to tackle a promotion for Weiss Research's Safe Money Report, he got them to bring Eric on board to tackle it. And here's a copy of the piece you can add to your swipe file.

It's called The Six Giants of Unstoppable Global Profits. And one of the things I like most about this piece is how Eric does a great job hooking the prospect right from the start.

Here's the link ... Enjoy!

I've never seen the letter, but I like it.

A few quick takeaways...

1. Knowing your market is king. Serious investors are generally open to new ideas, tips, strategies and anything that can give them an edge. The magalog format is perfect for them. And the entire letter oozes juicy information and tips... It's too valuable to ignore or throw away.

2. The headline is immediately paid off in the lead. I like the approach he took with it. Here's the six countries I'm talking about, and here's why they present such an unprecedented opportunity.

3. Everything is backed up with evidence and proof elements. "Building A City The Size Of San Francisco Every Two Weeks!" That's some VERY good proof of a booming economy.

4. He raises a lot of objections and overcomes them... "Our 'Safety First' Approach To Building Wealth"... A lot of investors are skeptical of investing in other countries, or view it as high risk.

5. I love how he pitches the premiums. IMer's can learn a lot from that.

The entire letter reads like... There's a BIG opportunity you should hear about. Here's proof I know what I'm talking about. Here's evidence to back up every claim I'm making. Here's more proof that Weiss Research is the "go to" source for savvy investors.

And we're so confident that you'll find our subscription invaluable, not only can you try it 100% risk-free for a year, but we're giving you $1,237 in FREE bonuses just for giving it a shot...

Oh, and by the way, here's WHY they're worth that much money, we didn't just attach some random number to them, and here's how they can help you...

That's how it's done

My only gripe would be not having the option of a website available to order from in 2007, but I would guess they tested that and for whatever reason this list doesn't like to do business online.

Great ad.

Thanks for sharing!

-Scott

Thanks Len! Yeah, Weiss is tops for financial swipes so this is another good one for me to add to the file. Nice to know the name behind the copy too. Will definitely look for others he wrote!

Great work.

Makes investing less exotic and thus safer by bringing back each Chinese fact and figure to U.S places the reader knows. Like the San Francisco example Scott cited. Enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks Len,

--- Ross
