Default How To Not Sell Something To My Generation

Here's a comic about copywriting I stumbled upon. I think you may find it funny.

Very cute...laughing...I'm from direct sales ans still I'm laughing!!

It's funny...a sales person reads a book that says "use the prospect's name" and they go WAY OVERBOARD!

Ha. Pretty good.

The person behind the cartoon forgot to add "Appeal to goodwill" to the chart. The cartooner's website uses it pretty well in that big ad just below the cartoon.

Quote:
This week 100% of profits from sales of my new book are going to (insert tragedy here)
(Like we don't know that you 'expense' your pay from revenue and what's left after expenses is profit.)

I guess the lesson here is ...

We (even the hip generation) are all advertising whores and will use whatever type of message it takes to make a sale. Ha ha!

I wish the car dealerships would notice this comic. I just want to look at it, compare, drive it, make a decision and let them know.

I think the guy in the middle sold me a phone last week. I had my mind made up before I walked into the store and this jerk almost talked me out of buying it.

Here is a hint - if I walk into your store asking for a specific model of anything and know more about it than you do, don't try to be cute and sell me on a more expensive model.

Wearing a wrinkled tie and a stained knock off Oxford does not give you super human powers of persuasion.

Pretty funny. The overhype does tend to turn people off but it has its place in certain situations
