I don't know, Ninja Weirdness, Dirty Little Weirdness, Weirdo Techniques...

Ain't working for me but I'm not exactly the target mkt. on this kinda stuff. Could be big with the skateboard generation I guess. But I thought they were into 'sick' as the new buzz word. I know it's been around a while but I doubt it's peaked yet.

While I'm thinking ot it I think I'll go check out some weird domain names so I can be positioned to capitalize on the momentum shift.

Pretty sure Vin Montello started that craze with FatBurningFurnace.com

The guy made a disgusting amount of money with it (and still is, AFAIK) and was plastering that everywhere. People copied what Vin was doing and history was made.

A great example of how to be a trend-setter... and how little your average marketer really knows about marketing. No question's Vin work was amazing, but that was only ONE of the many things contributing to the huge success of that product.

Hi Guys and Gals,

Yes, I agree with travelinguy: it very much depends on the market you are targeting, because you always need to 'speak like a native' to make a proper connection with your prospect.

But I don't think it would work in my alterative medicine and financial markets, where the prospect isn't cool, has no street cred (but plenty of cash on the hip!).

Warmest regards,

Paul

It's like you guys read the title but not the actual thread...

HotDamn was commenting on how many people using "This weird little technique"... "This one weird method..." etc.

That's all. Nothing to do with "street cred" or buzz words or anything else.

What niche are you referring to?

In terms of buzz words... they are definitely niche-specific so I'd suggest making sure your target market is using "weird" before you roll with it.

I'm working on a piece right now that has a military theme to it... so I'm using a lot of military buzzwords that I wouldn't normally use because it fits with the theme and the target market.

In terms of phrases like "this one weird method...", sometimes it's the word that best fits the point the copywriter was trying to make in the copy.

Hope that helps,

Mike

If everyone online is doing it, it therefore must be working. Because the Internet is the absolute copy pinnacle.

Yeah. About that...

NINJAWEIRDO.COM
NINJAWEIRDOS.COM

These are both available as of the time of this post. I actually toyed with the idea (without doing any keyword research) of how these might be made profitable. Though I'm not really too fond of what I call the fast-buck IM market so they're not a good fit for me. Focus, focus, focus, travlinguy. Back to work...

They said I was weird when I sat down at the piano ...

... but that was because I was naked from the waste down.

I agree - that site is extremely well done. One of the best video sales letters online; if not the best.

The product creator is also a VERY good marketer himself and has all the goods (proof, great story...etc)

With that said, not sure if Vin started the "weird" trend. (not that it really matters lol) I actually think affiliate marketers did promoting acai via flogs a couple years ago. I could be wrong though.

Either way, that offer is a classic and should be studied by anyone who wants to create successful video sales letters.

Are you sure this is going to be the next buzz word. Care to show some sites and sales copy?
If it's going to be "weird" then I would prolly break out the thesaurus, and get something similar
I doubt it though

Yes, everything is "weird" now, as opposed to being "shocking."
