Hi all, Ive written some testimonials for my sales page and was wondering if some people could have a quick look and give me some tips on improving them, thanks lots! Testimonial 1 I ordered this course and in a few minutes I was practising English for the First Certificate! This course is a must; every English student who is preparing for the exam needs to buy it – I passed the exam the first time with no stress at all. Testimonial 2 I can’t afford any of the expensive English courses on the Internet or go to a language school. Because of this I decided to buy this course because of its economical price. The course was very fun and interactive and the method is the best method I’ve seen, I recommend it to everyone who is preparing for the First Certificate! A++ Testimonial 3 I love the fact that with this course I only have to practise 15 minutes a day – it fits into my busy timetable. I took the First Certififcate exam a few months ago and was surprised at how easy it was after having prepared for it with this course. Don’t think twice about buying this course, buy it now! |

I have to ask: What do you mean by, "Ive written some testimonials for my sales page..." ? How can you write testimonials for your own sales page? Unless people have given you permission to write it for them. Is that it? |

You can't write your own testimonials.. they have to be real and written by people who have used the product.

Yes, I agree. You can't just make up testimonials. I thought you had people who gave them to you but you just wanted to improve the way they were written.

Aren't testimonials meant to be written by customers? Otherwise you're breaking the law. |
| Ever wondered how copywriters work with their clients? I've answered that very question in detail-> www.salescomefirst.com | |

#1 your clients/customers have better experiences and results than they are presently getting. #2 you ask your clients more specific questions so they give better testimonials which make your sale easier. If you want a copy of a client questionnaire, pm me and I'll get one to you. Lastly, as others have said, never write them out yourself...that makes you a fraud...a punishable crime. You can highlight, bold and take out parts to go in the headline. Best, Ewen

You also need to ensure there is "variety" within the testimonials - ie each one should stress a different benefit/s of your product/service and overcome the buyers objections.

The beauty of testimonials is that if you get enough of them, they will help you write the copy.

I hope you didn't mean wrote and made up testimonials yourself because that would be fraud. However, if you are getting testimonials and not getting detailed feedback or the responses you desired, then start asking your customers or clients better questions to draw out the results and information you are trying to get. For example, after they buy your product, send a feedback form or testimonial form with questions that ask for specifics and results so you can explain how your customers have benefited and that they accomplished x and y with your service or product. Then ask them for permission to use for promotional purposes and if so, then list as many specifics as possible in your copy. Like...city, state, first and last name versus john smith or j.s. |
