Post Brand-New to all of this - I have an eBook, but need a copywriter

Hi, I've just stumbled on this site, and I've searched through the forums but can't find any answers specific to my needs. (Hello everyone!)

I've written an eBook detailing the success I made on eBay, selling to a very specific niche, generating $3,000 profit in one week (after a $200 investment). The book makes an excellent, unique product because I included everything I did, including the niche, my products, my suppliers etc, and it gives a very thorough, fly-on-the-wall account of the techniques I used which can be applied over and over. I've seen similar eBay books that give good advice, but they don't tend reveal any products that the reader should sell.

Apologies if I'm waffling here, I've seen on other threads that the professional copywriters on here prefer replying to posts that include some specifics about the book's content.

To cut a long story short, due to a new career in healthcare, I no longer have the time to keep my eBay business going and the money I made has gone on a deposit for a house, so I'm hoping to generate an income by offering my experience in an eBook, as opposed to mailing products all day.

I need a copywriter for a sales page, but because of budgeting limitations, I wondered if any copywriters do commission-based deals for first time writers like myself. It's also worth mentioning here that I plan on selling through a 3rd party affiliate email list, so the royalties would be split between the copywriter and affiliate.

If anyone has any information that could help me at all, I would be most grateful, even if it's just to say "No!"

Thanks,

Adrian

So let me get this straight Adrian, you've devised an eBay system which you've now put into an eBook and this system to date has enabled you to save up the money for the deposit on a house?

But... you don't want to pay a professional copywriter a single cent in advance. To minimize your risk, you expect them to do this essentially for you free of charge? In exchange for a percentage of the potential profit when the eBook sells, correct?

You expect a copywriter to give you about a week of their time to get this right but not receive a cent for their expertise, time or trouble?

Why would any experienced copywriter want to carry all of the risk here for you on an unproven product?

Someone here could write you the best sales copy in the world but what happens if you then send the offer to completely the wrong audience? What happens if you miss your target market by a mile with your traffic generation strategies?

The copywriter in this instance wouldn't receive a cent that's what would happen. And further how would a copywriter know in advance that they could trust you anyway to make good on your commissions?

Seriously, if you want an experienced copywriter, if you believe in your eBook, if you believe in your system therein contained - a system which has enabled you in this economic downturn to put enough spare cash aside for a deposit on a house... why on earth can you not pay (as is the usual modus operandi) your copywriter the usual fees demanded?

Your offer makes no sense and smacks of no respect for the skills a pro copywriter can bring to the table in terms of their marketing skills.

Pass.

A short sales letter with a video is good enough. Long sales letters with lots of hype does not work. A good copywriter will do it for you at reasonable cost.

Default Here's what I take away from this...with HEADLINES even...

Who Else Wants to Waste Hours a Day Packing and Shipping Stuff You Sell on Ebay?...
When you can be working a great job in healthcare, like me?

Sure, I once made 3 thousand dollars in profit in one week from a 200 dollar investment...of course that doesn't count all the time I spent packing and shipping. In fact, it was such a pain for me, I found a great new career in health care.

8888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

Really? You can't do your eBay business in your spare time? So it requires a lot of TIME?

And attention? How secure is your supply? How exclusive? If you sell only 100 copies, and they all start to sell the same product from the same suppliers...how much of the market is left? What if you sell 1000 copies (don't bank on it).

I think you have a hard to sell product. UNLESS you've been able to generate 3,000 profit week after week after week for months...then, maybe.

Who would I sell such a product to? Who is the market? You're competing against every Quick and Easy, Simple to Do, Make Money Fast, Get Rich with Ebay type of product out there. How can I as a copywriter present this to a market?

What would your product COST? How much of that do I get? What about refunds?

How big is this VERY SPECIFIC NICHE? How much room for competition? It is, in my opinion, neither unique nor excellent product as you have stated here. It would be a waste of time for any established copywriter. That being said, you might find someone here who will give you what you want. I posted to help you think about what you have to offer...sarcasm aside, try to approach your product from the copywriter's view, OK?

Good enough for not making any money, maybe.

Long sales letters are not synonymous with hype. A good sales letter does not contain hype, though sometimes it might *look* like hype to everyone who (a) isn't a professional copywriter or (b) is not part of the target market.

A good copywriter will also charge what he is worth. And chances are you won't find him on elance for 500 bucks.

I honestly cannot say any part of any of your statements are even remotely accurate.

The danger of public forums... people who think they know what they're talking about with no *actual* experience... usually they're fairly amusing however, so I guess they make up for it.
