Default Copy Flow

What are the best techniques and strategies that you have used to make your copy flow even better?

I realized the importance of the flow of copy from Sugarman's book, Advertising Secrets of the Written Word.

I have found Bayan's Words That Sell and Vitale's Hypnotic Writing Swipe File very helpful to make my copy flow better and give it more persuasive power.

Reading it aloud. Several times.

* My "fix-all" solution to ANY marketing problem

One of the books you mentioned has a section of transitions to begin sentences with (I think!).

Also, read your copy out loud and when your brain wants to say something different to what's on the paper, change it.

Ever wondered how copywriters work with their clients? I've answered that very question in detail-> www.salescomefirst.com

I read outloud as I write, not just after I'm finished. My wife thinks I'm insane, but it really helps to keep it flowing well and conversational.

One technique that helps copy flow better is called the "Bucket Brigade". You can read about it here...

A lot of people struggle with getting their sales copy to flow… I think it’s because they’re not always prepared for the writing at hand.

Preparation will make writing an automatic process.

Here is an outline of the logic flow I use when creating my sales letters:

After the headline, I’ll start with an interesting lead in. In the MMO market, the story could be one of “rags to riches”, for example…

- Start with how things were at the darkest beginning
- Talk about the mindset that makes being in poverty not matter
- Talk about why external circumstances are irrelevant
- Talk about a proven marketing concept that changed everything
- Explain why this marketing concept is superior
- Talk about a product that teaches this marketing concept
- Get to some bullets…

The problem with forumulas like AIDA is it often reads like A.I.D.A. Poor transitions.

Want to improve flow? Trying telling a story.
