What a coincidence. His name is Ewen. I spent 17 years with dogs and whistle directing sheep and cattle and now people...without whistling and shouting. Like many things in life you certainly can draw parellells between two. Direct response ad writing and shepherding is no exception. Interesting how the great admen David Oligivy and Eugene Schwartz [Bute Montana] spent their young formative years on farms. Best, Ewen |

You gotta get some interesting stories to tell your buddies at the bar from somewhere...now don't you! Was talking to a young mother who wants to lose weight recently. It was fun talking about yummy mummys, jelly bellies and love hate relationships with men and food. They dig that stuff. They can talk about it all day long. Frederick Goudy, the typographer, once said, "Any man who would letterspace blackletter would shag sheep." I think of that when I see giant headlines in all caps. |
