Quick Piece of Advice Needed

I knew this would be the best place to come, and hopefully one of you guys can help me out. It's only a small query but I need a fairly quick resolution.

I'm happily beavering away on some written work for a forthcoming product launch and I'm entirely comfortable with what I'm doing on the project. However, there are two new areas that I've had very little experience in.

As part of the project, I have to produce a series of Twitter and Facebook posts for publication at a later date. No problem with Twitter at all. There's only so much you can do with 140 characters, and I've come up with some stuff that I'm really happy with. I know my client will be delighted as well.

It's the Facebook posts that are stalling me, and I was hoping for either a few pointers to get me started or some examples of posts that could inspire me. This is only a very small part of the project, but I place just as much importance on it as I do with everything else I create.

Obviously, I have my own ideas and there's nothing to say they won't work. However, I refuse to give my client anything less than the best I can do, and I know that some of you guys will be able to share your expertise to help me over the finishing line with this project.

Thanks for the recommendation. Social media is, admittedly, an area that I'm still very green about. I've gathered plenty of information in the last couple of months about the importance of positioning and using social media as a vehicle to marketing success, but I really need to find out more about putting things into practice.

Not sure how relevant this will be to you but you can merge the Twitter and Facebook messages so that when you tweet about something, it appears on the Facebook page.

Add Twitter to Facebook - Combine Your Messages When You Add Twitter to Facebook

shows you how. Only problem is that EVERYTHING you tweet will also post to the Facebook wall.

I have to do something similar for a health and fitness client so what I've opted to do is tweet health and fitness tips and for Facebook the same.

Only difference is with Twitter I'm using a tool called TweetBuddy which is retweeting relevant health and fitness posts from the web based on keywords I've picked and added to the client's account.

Makes it much easier to maintain.

Question: are you going to have some form of lead capture with your client? If so, it may be worth having a led capture facebook fanpage set up.

And think of general things you can write about - even just small tips, techniques and even the odd secret which you can post about. Perhaps ask questions and get people talking - but it really depends on what the client is looking for and how much legroom they will give you.

If you have a blog you're working on, you can tweet/facebook the new post.

And look at getting more likes to your client's page and providing value in your posts before anything else so you help build a rapport with the audience.

Some great information, and genuinely appreciated.

The nearly-finished project is a combination of reviews, promotional material and marketing initiatives which will most likely be passed down to affiliates. Essentially, this is a breakthrough project that should leave a fantastic impression on a reputable client and force my hand over my copywriting potential.

There was only ever going to be so much longevity in my career as an article writer and I want to explore new dimensions with my work. This project has been fascinating and testing in equal measures, and I've been so excited about it that I've barely slept overnight. I have no doubts whatsoever that the stuff I've produced so far is more than acceptable and the FB posts are the only part of the project that's left me partially stumped. I've got one other part of the project to complete and I'll be back on the posts afterwards.

I've still got a good 24 hours if I need them, although I can't see myself needing much more than this afternoon to get finished. On this occasion, I'll probably try to use other examples for inspiration (hence asking for a few!).

Lead capture hasn't been discussed but I'm certain this client will be tracking conversions meticulously, hence the fact I've allowed time for revisions. I'll certainly be asking the client to keep me informed on results.
