Who do you think are the best direct response internet marketers and copywriters in the world? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I agree with Arfasaira, although I haven't personally read much of Carline Anglade-Cole's work. That said, the "mainstream" list is usually the same for most copywriters. Some other copywriters works who I've become familiar with through samples, products or blogs: Ben Settle Vin Montello Chris Haddad Kevin Rogers Malcom Lambe I'm sure I'm missing a few here... so don't get cut if I missed you Ansar |

So far we've seen people listed above who've done a great job of positioning themselves. But are they the best? Not necessarily. There are numerous internet marketers and copywriters who operate behind the curtain, and you can be sure some of them are top drawer too. Alex |

From the ones who have positioned themselves: 1. Clayton Makepeace 2. Gary Bencivenga 3. Ken McArthy (sp) 4. Dan Kennedy 5. Drayton Bird 6. Michael Masterson 7. Bob Bly Of course, you can put others like Carlton. But I'm speaking of folks who market themselves as experts. And the living. -Angel |

Well since Alex Cohen's holding out, I'll sum up a couple of darkhorses: Copywriter Jody Madron - Copywriting Services Len Bailey, Copywriter/Consultant, Asheville, NC, Copywriter Troy White-Copywriter-Marketing Campaigns-Lead Generation-Copywriting-Direct Response Marketing-Marketing Campaigns Not to take away from any of the copywriters/direct salesmen mentioned in this thread, but it is true that some position themselves for public consumption, while others stay in the shade...reclusive "hitmen." |

Funny enough, I was just looking at Jody's page the other day, thinking, "Man, this guy is good." Also, if you want to see great copy then look into material from Porter Stansberry. Fantastic copywriter: http://www.stansberryresearch.com/pr...VD/WPSIM700/PR The promo above is killing it - so enjoy all. -Angel

If you had Gary Bencivenga bringing in the moolah for you... and he retired... who would you call in? Well we can look at who Gary worked for and who replaced him. That man's name is Doug D'Anna. http://www.dougdanna.com/ Best, Ewen |

Great list folks... there's also a guy named "Craig Garber" that writes some damn good copy(Gary Halbert personally trained him). ... although, I was a little bit wierded out by him at first, since I had only read his "automatic pimping" sales letter (until I read the story behind it)... lol. I've met a few pimps before, and they're nothing like what this letter describes. Although if you want to stereotype then I guess this would hit your "hot buttons"! Dean |

This list isn't complete without Parris Lampropoulos who holds most of the controls for his clients. Some very well credentialed copywriters I know rate him as the #1 in the world right now.

How I discovered the secret of the Best Golf Vacation in the World To my eyes, what makes his letters special is their exhaustive research. He can write and very well, but the detailed research in the Porter letter is what makes it outstanding. That journalistic digging gives you so much more ammunition. Not just on a basic "proof" level, but in terms of being able to ratchet up the entertainment and newsy value. --- Ross

Gary Halbert above all. Tina Lorenz is very good too and sometimes writes for Frank Kern. And in the IM niche, Jason Fladlien is good. |

(lotta the cb stuff)... also ryan fletcher.... did a bunch of agora stuff.... |
