Default Clickbank Game Changer?

I started to hear about this from a few people about a week ago.

Vendor Promotional Messaging Guidelines

If Clickbank actually holds to it and enforces their policy this could change a lot of how things are done in the Clickbank market place.

What are your guys opinions?

I don't mean things like: "This is great!" or "This sucks"

I mean how do you think people will adjust too it.

It will be interesting to watch.

Damn it, Kelly you beat me.

Tell you the truth, this doesn't affect copy I write for my own products, but I do know of a few companies that did not adequately plan for this.

This is major contribution to Ryan Deiss' "Fourth Phase."

How about, "It doesn't matter to me either way"? Are we allowed to say that? LOL

I see it as a fabulous opportunity for people who can sell.

I don't think it matters to the majority of people.

I'm simply asking for speculation on how it's going to change things for those it will effect.

I suspect things will actually get worse, because most of em know about this around a month ago and have already found work arounds for most of the issues.

It's going to allow them to "appear" more legit, but nothing will change.

That's my guess, but I'm curious what others think.

Looks like it'll make products on Clickbank easier to promote since others won't be able to jam 'one last offer' in the users face more than 3 times (or is it now 2) too many still imho.

What's crazy is how affected clickbank is. I mean 10 out of their top 20 offers are "get rich quick" atleast if not more. I'm curious to see how they enforce these changes. Are they banning vendor ids until the vendor changes their pitch page copy?? i can't see them being that hardcore but who knows.

I read it and I think it's just Clickbank covering their rear and will have no effect on how some gooroos conduct their business.

As for as OTO's, I never buy one, so I don't use them.

I'm not going to buy a product and before I can download it and see if it is any good, they offer me something else.

Wait a couple of days and send me an email. Then if the first product is good I may look at the OTO.

Just my thinking...

My opinion?

First... CB have never been great at enforcing their own policies. All you have to do is check out the top ten - some of them are already blatantly violating CB policy.

Sure... CB can't police everything. But you'd think the top ten would be a good place to start, no?

Having said that... these requirements are weak. Not only do most of them have obvious loopholes (many of which are explained on that page!), but CB aren't going to ask for any kind of verifiable proof for most of it.

Which amounts to "Well, we told them to do it properly, it's not our fault."

So... game changer? No. Just business as usual.

I think that the False Scarcity thing will be really bad for the IM people. They are the masters at that. I hope they enforce this policy.

Also, I hate it when I buy a product and it turns out that you need to spend another $50 to get the plugin to make it work. This should help people like me.

Clickbank has some really great stuff on it, and some stuff they should be ashamed of. I hope that they stick to their policies.

Thanks for pointing this out Kelly. (But I suppose they aren't going to hit they're big cash cows too hard...)

Out of all of them false scarcity is one of the easier to overcome.

"I'm only going to sell a few copies because I can't have this type of secret knowledge in everyone's hands, I reserve the right to yank this page down at any time. In fact, if you hit refresh, it might already be gone"

All of my pages have only legit testimonials.

I can hardly wait for the day when all weight loss products are sold by thin folk
and all money-making products are sold by rich folk.

It has given me problems getting my product approved and I am totally legit. I have made some changes so hopefully they will accept it now. I guess I couldn't say for a limited time which is kind of silly in my opinion. I guess that is it since they didn't actually tell me what the problem was just to look at that page and make changes. It has been a nightmare waiting game for me with the approval process. I understand the policy and agree it is a good thing but I would like to see them seeking out those that are blatanly breaking the "rules" right now. I was pretty offended that they seem to think what I had to sell was some how wrong when it is one of the most legit products there could be.

I think a lot of people who are saying it won't affect me right now might be surprised at what they have to change before it is over with.
