I have a niche blog that is ranking well on google for my main keyword. My problem is that I have a very high bounce rate as a result very low conversions. Can anyone please suggest me something that how I can decrease my bounce rate so that more people can read my post and I can get better conversions. The traffic I am getting is highly targeted and it is the exact same keyword I am targeting but still the bounce rate is around 85%. I seems that something is instantly distracting my visitors and they are leaving the website without reading it. Or it has something to do with the look and feel of the website? Someone please suggest me something. Update: Thanks everyone for your reply. |

Where are you sourcing the traffic? If you're using AdWords targeting the phrase that matches your domain, then maybe it's because they're looking for a solution and you're giving them content in a blog format. I figure your goal is to get the visitor to click through the Meladerm affiliate link - if so, can you send them to a more traditional sales landing page? If it's SEO traffic you're getting, then I think you need to optimise the main homepage a lot more for sales. |

I am getting my traffic from seo. How can I optimize this traffic so that I can reduce the bounce rate? It would be really kind if you can please elaborate. I have optimized my page for the keyword I am targeting.

Try putting more calls to action in the body copy, instead of just "click here".

But I dont think that would make any difference on the bounce rate. I want to improve my bounce rate.

Strengthen your "headlines" the title of the post. Use Sub Heads. And make sure the opening line of every post is strong. |

Conversions to what? I've been to your site and couldn't work out what to do next. If you want this sucker to fly, take all that content out, make it into a free report and send people to a squeeze page offering that report. Then you've got yourself a database of prospects you can email with case studies etc. Hugh |

I spent EXACTLY 1.5 seconds on your page. That is long enough to understand your bounce rate. See - that's how long it took me to scroll all the way to the bottom. Try this: 1 BACK UP ( SAVE ) your old webpage files somewhere. 2 REDO the site with a landing page which is so short that it fills only one screen and you can't SCROLL DOWN and see how daunting the length of each page is. See - people want IMMEDIATE results They wanna know IMMEDIATELY how you can help. Knowing right away they need to read ALL THAT is hurting you. 3 - Break up each section into about 3 individual pages. 4 - On the index page - list the headlines and a BIG BENEFIT 5 - Set a budurl on that page to TRACK the visits (from that link) to the next. 6 - On the second page - offer an OPTIONAL FREE GIFT/INFO if they give you their email - best is just stick and email address like freegift@yourdomain.com with an AUTORESPONDER with a download link in the reply message. Super-easy. Learn the EASY Skin Lightening Secret Revealed in Michael Jackson's Diary ... but don't FORCE the opt-in - let them see the next page if they want to without forcing them to give you an email. 7 - with another budurl track the traffic to the 3rd page - the sales page. If it sucks - remove the opt-in. PS - your images are nice. Before/Afters should appear on the sales page. PS to PS - Go figure - white girls spend zillions to be darker. |

Like said above. Turn this into a report site where they opt in. If 100% targeted and have a report hitting the market your targeting, then you can follow up with your weekly blogs, value and offers and not worry about your bounce rates. Or you could just simply turn some of your blogs into a valued report and then once they opt in on landing page, then send them to your site you have now. This way you at least grabbed their info and can follow up with anytime now. Plus, think about a more compelling headline, put together some good bullets and just get them opting in. |
