Default Whoppers - Seven of the Biggest Beasts of All Time

"Seven of the Biggest Beasts of All Time" the original headline read. I clicked on it thinking I might see Dolly Parton or Sabrina or the latest Penthouse Pet or some other endangered species.

Did it get you too? Or maybe it's just that sump-oil I've been smoking lately.

Carry on.

Speaking of headlines. Mark wanted one for his Turkey thingy -

This is...

a Real Turkey

- it won't fly

Wanna know why? Because it's a crap idea to start with. If you want people to respond, you've got to make it an ...

Irresistible Offer

...something they feel they absolutely must have...can't live without...will mug Granny to get the funds to buy.

Tap into that and you've got it made.

Halbert had a great story to emphasis the importance of an offer you can't refuse.

Went something like this...

A bunch of rich kids were trying to pick up this hot chick at a party.

They had the cars, the money and the looks.

Getting nowhere with their best moves.

Scruffy no-name dude walks in and brushes past all wannabe lady's man
and whispered into her ear.

Next thing she leaves the party with him.

What was it he offered that those others didn't?

If you think you know, please tell.

Best,
Ewen

He whispered in her ear, "I've got a couple grams of heroin on me."

I have heard of crack addicts doing just that sort of thing. Guess drug dealers are the ultimate marketers.

Everybody makes fun of this poor turkey...but within it's own niche there are other turkeys that would see this picture and would love to "tap into that" as you put it.

What's not appealing to one group, is something that another group is ape over.

It's all about target practice till you hit the bullseye.
