I know sometimes we as copwriters go back and forth about issues...

...and I don't visit other sections of this forum often, but I read something that is important for everyone to know...more important than how we feel about certain issues...a fellow copywriter needs help.

Some of you may know about this...maybe I'm just behind...but it's worth bringing up.

I can only imagine the thoughts and fears one must have when dealing with something like this.

Not only have I signed up the Crazy 8 Webinar but I've sent an email to my lists alerting them about the event.

It's mentioned in either the thank you email or in the download area (I forget which).

Ken has a donation button on his blog (the "I have cancer" link above).

YES, Daniel... there will certainly be a replay for those that buy a seat. No plans to release it afterward.

As an added bonus, we've been compiling the emails each copywriter is sending to his list about this. It's fascinating to see the different directions all have taken. Also some eye-opening in house discussions about how to best inspire people to donate for a cause such as this.

Carlton, in particular, has some very strong insight and opinions on this.

I've sent 2 radically different emails to my list over the last 2 days... one focusing on the event and only bringing in the charity angle about half-way through...

... and another testing a "transparency" angle that's all about Ken, but with a twist on why they should buy even if they have no reason (or lack the ability) to sympathize with Ken's battle.

Garfinkel's emails have been more emotion driven, while John's lean heavily on curiosity and cause.

When else to do we get to see copy tactics like this happen in real time?

Sure, top dog copywriters might all promote a product simultaneously, but I can't think of a time when this many have been personally vested in a project the way we are in this one.

There's been loose discussion about compiling all this and releasing it as an unannounced bonus. I think that will be incredibly cool. No promises (the whole ensemble would have to agree to it)...

... but I wanted to point out that there are many great lessons for all of us (I know I'm learning a ton) in how this whole project is playing out.

Most of all, just support Ken however you can... it'll come back to you in spades.

I'm out in London on Thursday and won't be home until the Friday, consequently I won't be there when it's playing live.
