Finding a copywriting niche

COPY WRITING

Hi all,
I'm a new copywriter brainstorming niches that I want to write copy for.

Right now, I am interested in writing for the financial and tech industries because I am interested in investment and tech gadgets/software.

Where can I find out more information about these niches and how to position oneself in them?

Examples of top copywriters who currently write for these niches would be great also.

Make a list of companies in those areas and start talking to their Marketing Managers. Call them up, tell them what you do and that you're interested in finding out what they need. You'll get clients.

Just pretend as though you are looking for those
servcies and Google them. You'll find some writers
that way. Read through their marketing material
and this would give you a better idea about how
much they charge and your own possibilities.

"Niching" yourself in the copywriting field is one
way of being able to charge more and get it.
Just make sure you have your chops together
because this requires specialization--meaning
that you must the basics together before you
claim specialty--then again who can position
yourself the way you want to without anyone
else 'permission'.

Gary bencivenga and Gary Halbert off the top of my head

Seriously just pick up some popular tech journals and maybe even get a paid subscription to an investment newsletter/report. Try to get on one of those lists and soak up every piece of advertising you see on there. Once you have gotten your hands dirty, just hit up the SRDs and look for recent buyers list in that niche-send them a direct mail piece and test that baby
