Currently I'm on a ship. In the middle of the ocean. As I've told you guys before, I'm in the Navy. I have quite a few more months until my deployment is over. While I'm out here I want to better myself. If I'm going to become a successful young entreprenuer I can't afford to put my business education on hold just because I'm at sea. I try to write something everyday. Even with the heavy work load from my job. My plan is to devote 5 hours a day for the next 4-8 months or up to a year so that I can write really effective copy when we pull back in. Sell my own products or sell my copy writing services. Is there anyone who can give me guidance? |

I am not far enough along to mentor anyone. However, I do want to pass along couple of tips from the pros that might help. I don't know what your situation is and you may have already heard about these ideas but in case you haven't ... 1) Buy and Read some of the great books on Copywriting. There is a sticky at the top of this forum with the best titles. Many of these books are relatively cheap. One of the best, by Claude Hopkins, is in the public domain and can be downloaded for nothing. Here is a link to bookfinder where you can get used books cheap: BookFinder.com: Search for New & Used Books, Textbooks, Out-of-Print and Rare Books 2) The other tip is to copy-by-handwriting great ads by the masters. All accomplished copywriters say they did this. Find a good ad and then copy it, word for word, in handwriting. Then analyze it and figure out what is working and why. Here is a link to a website that has a large number of the classics: Best Advertising Collection | Hard To Find Editorial Ads Good Luck! |

I am honing my skills as a copywriter by applying for work in odesk. Since you do not have to worry about money at this time, you can charge low fees to make sure you get the job, and develop your skills. You can then add these jobs to your growing portfolio.

I've been coaching other warriors for over five years now and have had high level of satisfaction with the program and unbelievable pricing. You may want to consider my program in the signature below. There are other great programs available as well. -Ray Edwards |

Based on your member name alone, I'd say you have a future in the biz. Morbidly obese PayPal accountant, indeed! That puts a very vivid picture immediately into my mind, and it ain't a pretty one, buddy! Let me share... He's sweaty, twitching, with ill-fitting glasses repaired by duct tape and rolls of fat spilling out from every opening in his desk chair. He's a neurotic 43-year-old virgin who hasn't had a girlfriend since 6th grade, his desk littered with empty Cheetos bags and old smelly Subway sandwich wrappers, vindictively deciding whose PayPal account to arbitrarily freeze next just for the twisted fun of it! Yes, I see him very clearly! Best member name on Warrior Forums, if you ask me! |
