Is editing html code driving you nutz???

Hello everyone Phil here,

Ok if you where like me, when i first got started messing with the html code for my youtube videos, websites, or even creating my web 2.0 profiles.

There were several times when i wanted to throw my computer against the wall and ghetto stomp the thing to pieces,
But fortunately i calmed myself and searched for answers to my problems..

Here i am going to share with you all the sites i use that make modifying html code a breeze!

so here it is:

Site # 1: HTML Cheatsheet - Webmonkey

Site # 2: Integrating ICT into the MFL classroom:: How to remove YouTube related videos feature and search box in embedded player

Site # 3: MySpace Core - MySpace Codes MySpace Tweaks MySpace Hacks Tutorials

Site # 4: Myspace Codes, Myspace Layouts, Graphics, Generators & Backgrounds!

Site # 5: HTML Examples

Site # 5 extended: HTML Basic

And now the best for last, why is this the best????
well this site allows you to see how your changes effect whatever your modifying while you do it.

opposed to making your changes, then embedding the code, then loading it and finally seeing your results.

you enter the code you want to modify in the left box, then click the button that says " edit and click me" then your changes are immediately shown in the box on the left.

These sites have helped me immensely!

Another quick tip that I do is to have a file on my PC with my most frequently used HTML code. (OK, so it's just an email draft which ought to be a Word file...)

Like the code for imbedding links into text on web sites and bulletin boards. If they're affiliate links I also shrink them and put the shortened urls in the file, so I have easy access when I want to include them in my blog posts, comments or sig files.

this might be a no brainer but if your new to coding why not just pick up wordpress. css is going to help you alot more than html. learn css. you'll be much farther ahead on the curve.

i agree with rubberleg. i just started studying html and css a few months ago what i found was that html is not good for any sort of styling.

All you need to know is the basics of html to make the content as simple and organized as possible. So that it just looks like a simple word document.

Then use css to style it so that you can test several different styles to see what works and looks best.

css makes it really easy to style entire documents with out changing the markup.

i was really surprised to see how much professional markup is written semantically incorrect. all it does is make it harder for you or any one else who might be working with it.

in short, read this gem of a book: Learning Web Design by Jennifer Niederst Robbins. The most valuable book i've read on the subject.

maybe that was a little off subject but i hope it helps!
