Default Gary Bencivenga Swipe?

Anyone have Gary's salesletter where he sold his $5,000 workshop DVD set thing, where he would never sell that again, or something like that??

I cannot find my swipe of that, and I was recently talking about it on an interview and I'm just CERTAIN, one of you fine copywriter studs has a swipe copy of that spectacularly written sales letter.

Anyone?

Hello?

Echo-Echo

If so, just let me know. I am looking for it.

Eric

Thanks for the letter Eric. The advertise DVD course seems extremely valuable, but is beyond my budget now.

It remember me the tactic of selling for retirement, implemented for the original owner of makeyourownsoftware.com, also the John Reese tactic of never sold the product again.

Thanks for sharing mate

Bencivenga is considered by many to be one of the best copywriters ever. Definitely a great one to study and learn from.

If my memory serves me correctly, Gary has never failed to beat an offline control piece for any client that he's chosen to take on... of course that's easily a six-figure payment to make it worth Gary's time.

He's pretty much retired now but periodically writes a new Bencivenga Bullet whenever the mood strikes.

To be honest, I don't think the $5K seminar sales letter is one of Gary's best. It's still real good but I have other ones of his that kick serious a$$.

Here's one of Gary's that I found online, courtesy of Clayton Makepeace's site:

Enjoy,

Mike

Love ain't got a thing to do with it.

It would take me some serious time to dig all of them out. Some of them are referenced in other paid products which I won't post any parts of them here out of respect to a fellow information marketer.

Hugh, I was commenting on the sales letter for the seminar.

I have no clue about the Bencivenga 100 seminar because I don't own it. I've heard good things about it and that's about all I could tell you about it.

Gary and I emailed back and forth when he launched that. I missed the original Bencivenga 100 seminar (still kicking myself for that!), but Gary's not doing any "scarcity selling" tactic when it comes to his retirement and this offer. When this sells out, he's serious. That's it.

He did mention that he honestly didn't know how long until that happened, but that it would happen.

Just a slight degree of hype.

He did not win every control.

He sure did win a lot of them though.

By the way, the Gary DVD letter is about 75 pages long and has nearly 29,774 words.

When I first skimmed through it, a couple of months ago, its length amazed me.

I am wondering…

1. Is there any copywriter who has copied the entire letter by long hand?

2. In the history of copywriting, has a longer letter than this ever been written?

Only if the client he worked with mailed enough pieces. Here is his rate back in the 90s:

Simple math tells you the client is paying for a "license" to mail 500,000 pieces (up front) then another .05 each after that.

Good thread, I was looking for that letter myself. That sales letter should be in the Getty Museum. It's that good.

It should be required reading and ... "hand copying" for every newbie who thinks they want to be a copywriter.

His letter stated that he planned to have some in stock for years to come, because he's not advertising except this one time. And because of the steep price. But because of the sales letter now going viral, I predict he'll sell out sooner than later. That is unless he takes down the link.

FWIW Gary denied he wrote that letter in an email to me.

He claimed the letter was written by Rosengarten.
