Default Most interesting place you've found a client?

A copywriting mentor posed this to me recently, and I wound up writing him a guest blog post.

My answer? A first date. Not once, but twice!

I don't plan on making my dating life into a pool of potential clients, but I thought it was interesting to have found good clients through a very non-traditional method.

How about you? What are some of the crazy ways you've met and/or won over a new client?

For me it wasn't the most interesting place but the most difficult.

In a dentists chair, getting a crown fixed and being asked about a sales letter to bring back past clients.

Wasn't easy to speak.

Steve...wow! That sounds both painful and kinda funny at the same time!

Did you take the job?

I sort of agreed by mumbling gaa gaa gaa a few times.

But once the anaesthetic wore off I said yes.

Steve

P.S. If you want a really easy copywriting "gig" - just do an irresistible offer from dentists to their previous patients and they come back in droves.

But maybe don't use a "grabber" on the letter like I did - a "plastic" decayed tooth because quite a few people complained - they thought it was a real one.

I'm just hoping that Angie didn't end up having to write any sales letters for those male enhancement pills that we hear about...

It doesn't happen often, but I found a client at a baseball game once. We're talking about all the electronic advertising in the stadium, and how the team could boost attendance, and one thing lead to another.

Ok I admit it didn't really happen there. It did make me laugh writing it though.

LOL Steve...If I were dating Viagra salesmen, that'd be an entirely different problem.
