Dear Copywriters,
I am putting together an ebook on how to create a strong presence on Elance, win bids, make money etc. Does this interest you? If so, perhaps you could ask me any and all questions and concerns you have on how to make it on Elance or as a decently paid copywriter in general. Just so you know that I'm the real thing, you can see my profile on Elance...just do a search for OliverO. I look forward to helping you where I can. Oliver |

Hello OliverO,
thank you for your ability to help. I tried my hand on Elance but i could not continue for i did not understand how to go about it. As you have offered to help i will be most grateful to work with you. I had the intention of writing books as an author first i need to get my hands on article writing before going forward. So i'm waiting to hearing from you soon. Thank you. Sincerely, Job Owen Ubani |

Hi, I prefer to find my jobs the free way. I have an online portfolio and I apply for jobs myself. I was able to score a gig where I write $100 a month. I only do this part time, but was able to make $700 in one month. So I will continue to find jobs the free way as opposed to paying for elance or some other ridiculous bidding place.

Hi Oliver,
The first thing that jumped out at me from your profile was you've been certified from the "American Writers and Artists Institute." Would you be willing to give me a link to the website? This seems like something I am interested in doing as well. Questions for your Ebook: What should I include in my bids? (Including a written example) How exactly do I write a winning bid? Does bidding high work? How do I go after the higher paying gigs? How do I land jobs with no certifications? How do I land jobs if I am new to Elance? How can I build my reputation on Elance? These are questions that I have been asked, seen around in forums and personal questions that I would like to see answered. |

I've tried both GetaFreelancer.com and Elance.com too. I noticed that the buyers on GAF generally offer lower rates?
It's difficult to land a job in Elance though. I get a lot of messages but very few people are actually hiring me. |

RentACoder is often underrated here. I made $2,270.37 in my first month on RAC, writing copy and ebooks maybe a couple of hours a day.
One key is to have a samples page of your work. I have some sales letters on it, as well as some of the ebooks I've written, but only the first 7 pages. If you want to swipe my samples page its at cassingenacopy.com/samples Best of all there are no fees, RAC just takes 15% of your fee for a project. Click on my facebook icon on the left, I have a group on this subject as well as the rentacodercash.com site. |

Have you tried odesk? I was once listening to a freelancer's podcast and notice that one of the panelists hate elance. She thinks that making good money in elance is impossible since the rate is too low. What are your comments on this?
I've hired some providers on odesk already but haven't tried elance. I'm wondering if they really have affordable rates there. I do not need a very cheap rate. What i need is a standard rate for professional writers. |

Hey buddy, I don't mind a bit of healthy skepticism, what with all the snake oil sellers on the net. In fact if you find my figures hard to believe then I take that as a compliment. Why don't you head over to rentacoder right now, you can search for coder briancassingena or go to my profile at theradicalebayletter.com/resume If you're logged in you will be able to see my dollar amounts for all projects I've completed. Then, you can simply add up the amounts in the first month, allowing a week or 2 for buyers who don't close off projects right away, and see what you come up with. If you go to my site you'll see I have a screenshot of my earnings. I guess if I'm lying about this then I'll eventually be found out and go broke. Fine by me. Although if I was going to make something up I'd probably go with no work for 200 grand a month rather than some work for 2 grand. If anyone thinks they've found a scam, especially on this forum, search for government sites, scam reporting sites, where you can report them. Any questions, message me through the forum or at brian (at) rentacodercash.com | |
