| Step 1: Work on your English. Step 2: Ask that question again once your English is better. (Unless, of course, you just want to write articles for $1 apiece. Then by all means, go for it. Post on elance.com and online forums. You'll get takers, I'm sure.) |

A few options you can explore: 1. There're some articles reseller sites around. It works like a middle man. You post your articles to them and other interested parties buy from them. The site will usually pay you about $5 - 7$ per article. Depending on the topic you're writing. If it's a rare topic, you may get higher pay. 2. Write blog post for webmaster. For example, some of the guru have no time to write post themselves. they would engage your service. 3. Write review on new products. You can search in Google to find people looking for your service. You may also post offer your service by starting a thread in the forum. |

Hi, first you need a portfolio. You need an online account of where your work has been published. You may have to take a few jobs for free just to build up your reputation. But by having a portfolio and samples of your work, will get your foot in the door. Then check places like problogger.com and performancing.com as they always have job boards looking for bloggers and writers. The most important thing is not to give up - try hard. |

Yeah dude, your linguistic skills need a major kick in the ass... metaphorically speaking. There are many FREE english work shops available EVERYWHERE, go take a few and learn proper sentence structure. Forget $1, I wouldn't even waste my time with someone who cannot write properly. You don't have to be FLUENT, but you need to make sure your writing sounds native and/or professional. |

I don't mean this to hurt but yes, I would also say you need to improve your English. Until then, I'm afraid you're going to be stuck.

Hey Bam, Before I unleash the 'IMPROOOVE YER ENNGLISH' bashing... Who is your target market? Simply identify the heavy-hitters that might benefit from your talent and engage them. If it proves your english skills require improvement, so be it...this may not be the case. Maybe your target market is of the 'Bangledeshian' persuasion. In which case improving your english won't help you much, addressing the requirements of a 'Bangledeshian' client might prove more fruitful... All tongue-in-cheek aside...for a question like this to be answered you must be a bit more clear in what you are asking. As with any good marketing, you must identify who your market is, then find a way to engage them... To address your case, what writing r u looking 4? an ebook an article a press release etc.... Then.... What is your specialty? health business marketing slinging yo-yo's etc.... For instance, had you asked the question "I need more help finding people who want articles written on the topic of knitting red sweaters with the letter 'L' on the right shoulder..." I could probably help you... However, since other's reading this may have clients looking to improve their presence in the Fire Detection arena, you may end up a bit off-center.... Anyway, that is the best I could pull off at this late hour while trying to keep the tongue out of the cheek or whatever cliche' you wish to append to it..... ![]() Hope this helps, if not shoot me a PM L8r |

"" How To Win Work One of the most obvious things you see as a content buyer is how unprofessional bidders are. I posted a project on DigitalPoint the other day and within twelve hours I had 17 responses – of which only 1 was even remotely acceptable. Content writers don’t seem to have the professionalism to understand how to win work nor do they understand they’re often competing with non-native speakers at the lowest level. The first thing to do is to work on your bid. First impressions really do count. You wouldn’t apply for a job with a casual note saying ‘I’m ready to do this job’. That will never be enough, yet you’ve no idea how common it is to receive messages like that whenever you post a project until you’ve actually had to sift through a mountain of spam applications. Obviously your bid should be in English. Don’t go for ‘leet speak’ – write ‘you’ rather than ‘u’, capitalise your ‘i’, put in full stops and commas. Be informative, be upbeat – after all, the buyer will see hundreds of ‘i can do this 4 u no problem in u deadline’. Anything descriptive about you that displays your writing style will turn heads. Buyer’s aren’t looking for magazine standard, but they are looking for competent English and you’ll never be able to convince someone to spend money if your bid is sloppy. Write out a standard bid template and use it for all your projects. This can be like your sales page and can save you so much time when it comes to individually bidding on projects, which can leave more opportunity to get writing and bring in the cash. Here’s an example of the kind of standard bid I’d advise using to bid on work in forums (via PM) and freelancer sites: Hi, I noticed you were looking for a content writer and thought that I’d take a moment to offer my services. I am a professional content writer with the ability to research and write articles tailored to your SEO requirements on any topic. I am confident that I will deliver your expectations well within your 3-day deadline. Attached is a sample of my writing style, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about hiring me for this project. OK so that isn’t perfect – in fact, it took me 30 seconds to write. But what I know as a buyer and a writer is that that bid will win hands down on most projects because of the lack of understanding shown in the content market. Take some time to come up with your own standard bid that’s in good English and reflects a little bit of your personality if possible. Attach a sample of your article writing to that and you really should end up winning work without too many problems."" David |

I am in the process of trying to increase the amount of writing projects I receive. Although, I am more focused on building a strong portfolio to get higher paying jobs in the long run rather than landing a mass of $4 SEO articles. But hey, that's just my standpoint.

Thanks for the brutal advice to learn proper English writing. Why does it seem that English is obviously not the first language for many content writers?
