What is a good sells copy?

avg$/sale $37.75

When I read the sales copy, it seems like it could be better, but it does okay, right? The reason I am asking is because, I'm working on writing some sales copies for my art site. I'm looking at who best to immulate. I suppose this should be the ones that sell well. Is the avg$/sale what I should be looking at?

P.S. Side question. How important is it to have the bars at the side of the site to make it a narrow read? What if the text was just in that same small area, but there were not visible borders?

    As you say, it's okay but it could be better.

    Clickbank's definition of avg$/sale:

    This number shows the average commission rate earned for all sales of a vendor's products, including one-time purchases, rebills, and upsell purchases. Since vendors can offer different commission rates for different types of products, this number may not exactly match the commission rate you earn on any given sale.
    An easy way to find the winners in your market is to see who can afford to buy traffic over the long-term.

    There's plenty of sites that don't use visible borders, it depends on what type of look you're going for and what others in your market are using.

    Good copy is simple. It tells a story, gives value to the reader and concludes with.. and THIS is why you need my product.

    It reads more like a helpful article than it does a pitch.

    Gather a few sales letters that you know are winning letters and compare cb products. Soon you will be able to tell a winner just by glancing at it.
