...is this just completely laughable? FREE VIDEO - How To Make $2,956.43 a Day - Real Quick Commissions Dud script...dud acting...dud pitch. With a pot-bellied, hungover, Frank Kern lookalike actor calling himself "Jeff Carter". Comedy gold. From Paul Ponna. But get this - I've heard it's converting exceptionally well - $2-$3 EPC. What do you make of that? The world's full of idiots? p.s. wait 'til he opens the fridge for a beer - almost empty. And that sh*tty house he entices them back to? Oh yeah - if a dude like that approached you on the beach...would you meet him back at his house in two hours? And why "two hours"? Does he need to sharpen the chainsaw? |

I don't know. It's funny to me how he seems to be scurrying around from place to place like he's under order (probably was). Also, seems uneasy at the beach. First time there? This guy scurries. Frank, on the other hand, strolls around like a boss. |

...within about 7.2 secs you realise how "unreal" the whole pitch is. Click off the page and yes you expect to see the "incredible" discount. And there it is! Click off again and the price drops even more. Once more click off and voila there's the 2 plus grands worth of freebies. Is it just me or do people genuinely never see the flaw? If someone is "earning" $10,000 plus a week - would they ever dream of flogging the super system for $9.00? The real kicker is - if you didn't click off - and watched the entire pitch I guess you pay the top whack price (I didn't bother to find out). Steve P.S. Just an aside point. Never penalise the good customers, by charging them more than the wavering ones. I did an offline campaign for a furniture store. They were shortly going to have a sale. I said "Give the existing customers the same price they would get in a weeks time. Because if they find out they could have had a 30% plus discount they'll be more than unhappy" The owners thought I had gone mad. But they reluctantly agreed. When the customers said "Yea, let me buy this", the staff said "Good news, let me give you the sales price" The average spend went up from $1,750 to $3,300. And the customer loyalty shot through the roof. And just about every customer referred their friends, family and anyone who would listen to buy their stuff at that store. |

It's just another scam. Sadly they have become so obvious over the last few years that it isn't very hard to tell when something is a bit shady. Bad business practice period/

I'm not at all surprised that this is converting well. Look at what it has: - High production values - Video testimonials. - Real life narrator speaking into the camera (much more powerful than text-only videos). - Attention getting music and visuals to keep people watching all the way to the end. - Tons of innuendo (big house, expensive car, etc). It does pretty much everything an internet marketing video is supposed to do. Yeah, it's cheesy, but isn't everything in the IM space a little cheesy? |

Maybe because he looks like the average american? That in itself probably also makes this believable - along with what Andy said. People think..."If this god damn looser can have a car and house like that with this system, then I should too" edit: You know... this kinda reminds me of what Schwartz once said... "How prepared are they to see your product?" So who would buy this? I would when I first started.... so they probably also have lists of people who have never been exposed to this. They probably also spend a fortune for newbie keywords like "how to make money online"... Who knows. |

The lookalike guy in the plush house looks and comes across like a lounge lizard. The people up front are the motivators. They're doing their part in convincing the target crowd that this can be done. I clicked away after about a minute. I think we're way too close to the "behind the scenes" stuff to take any marketing very serious. Kinda like if you got a bird's eye view of what goes on in most restaurant kitchens. You'd never set foot in the dining room. |

Realizing I know very little about internet marketing....I kind of thought this was the exact sort of video that was used in IM. Where can I find marketing videos that are considered top quality so I can compare it to this one?

- Video testimonials - obviously fake - Real life narrator speaking into the camera (much more powerful than text-only videos). - obvious actor. He looks and smells like a loser to me. - Attention getting music and visuals to keep people watching all the way to the end. - I must have missed those. May be why I didn't watch until the end. - Tons of innuendo (big house, expensive car, etc). Obvious both were props - you don't see him coming out the front door of the big house...easy to rent a car for the day. The "innuendo" was lost on me. In fact the whole production just screams "FAKE". Particularly the three "random" strangers he approaches on the beach with his sleazy spiel.

| It's a MMO product, don't they all convert? I'm always amazed that most of these products convert at all. They're so condescending...so insulting to the viewers intelligence. Most of these product creators have no respect for their prospects. They're just numbers on a screen to them. Conversions. EPC's. Then again, like most IM products, they're really just selling to low hanging fruit...the fruit is practically on the ground in this niche. Just tell them what they want to hear and they'll pull out their credit card. |

I didn't see it all the way thru. The minute he said "secret" and "only for your eyes" (or something like that), etc., I clicked out. It looked like a used-car salesman pitch to me. The props were nice. I was wondering what he paid to rent them. It didn't look like he belonged there though. I was so sure that when he went outside there would be something like an Ashton Martin (well, maybe not that - but you can get the idea) sitting in the driveway. At least the production crew didn't go overboard. |

It's kind of cringe worthy, but I'd say it's pretty good nonetheless - especially if you're not familiar with the industry. As for conversion - people fall for less (Nigerian scams are still profitable :-)...

If the product was any good at all it wouldn't take shiny objects like this to sell it. Why do SOOOOO many people turn Hollywood when they have something to sell? Why can't people just say... I made xxx money doing this xx number of hours a day for xxx months and I finally started making money. It wasn't easy, but here's how I did it if you are interested? |

That video is unrealistic only in the way that if you approach complete strangers, they would not act so casual when you offer them a way to make money. Nor would they be totally comfortable with having a camera pointed at them. So its paid actors, friends or family that. At the very least, the guy could have approached them before hand...told them I will give you a few hundred dollars, just act like we are walking up to you etc. And then did it. I know if someone approached me with a camera, I would be pointing to it and ask: What is this all about? and maybe even went further and said: I am not sure I feel so comfortable with being filmed. |

Erm... he actually says they are actors... if any one bothered to look... I thought it was a total crock of.... *cough* and I did watch it until the end...(Twice) just so I could Learn what NOT to do... I've been offered so much rubbish over the past 12 months... all the same... the same rubbish... i've had the same email from several different marketers... the *SAME* its actually depressing... depressing how so many *Marketeers* just copy and paste.... This has actually stopped me from doing my thing... thinking that IM is all rubbish... that its all about selling to the vulnerable, and making a quick buck... it made me think that I don't want to push the same rubbish that every one else is pushing... So... its time to actually do the right thing... tell it as it should be told... (i know some of you are already doing this)... I actually give value for money in my *day job* hell i've been doing it for 17 years and I have over 5000 customers.. but fixing computers is frustrating... problematic... and ever changing... and hard.... Everyone want's an easy life... but if you can't innovate, can't provide value to your mailing list.... then give it up... because when punters get on a couple of different marketers lists... and they see the same *cough* from different people your *guru* status drops quicker than a prostitutes knickers.... especially when you sell your list... to others that do the same as you If you can't add value to your list members... don't expect to make money.

As a result of the strong relationship he builds with his subscribers, he hardly even has to persuade people at all, in fact people go out of their way to click on his affiliate links. He also never sells via email to his list. Most of these other "marketers" are not really marketers. They aren't doing any real "marketing." They are exploiters. They see a vulnerability in a certain group, they reel them in with their bait, and they exploit their desperation for profit. That is not marketing.

HAHA... this is SO awful. Graphics done by an amateur in a 3rd world country.... that look like they're from 1998.... crappy copywriting and even worse acting... ya, the BS meter starts flying high right around... the 2 second mark and continues... well... for the entire video. (i couldn't watch more than a minute) it works because he's selling to you internet marketers. This market as a whole, is dumber than a bunch of rocks and so desperate they will buy any garbage at any price. (and i hate saying it but from my experience it seems to be true) if ppl didnt but this, ppl wouldn't be making nonsense and crap like this. |

Whoever this guy (Jeff Carter) is, his credibility is in the toilet. He (it) sends me this " Hey, You are a winner... We are giving away a commission generating software app today! This is just crazy... Download Your Commission App Here You can start profiting in hours and have your first commissions up fast! Talk Soon, Jeff P.S. This link is only up for the next 48 hours so act fast..." So I check out the freebee, and guess what: no freebee and I get another mind numbing spiel which I click off of in 10 seconds, but even with all the discounts it never gets free. So the guy, thing, company is a prevaricator. Don't waste your time. |

I'm actually fascinated by this [seriously ]. It is some sort of grubby, genius but sheer mimicry to the point of parody for those in the know... and that fascinates me.Does it work despite being awful... if so, why? Somehow, despite every part of your critical mind saying that it's terrible... for the average Joe, I think he hits enough triggers to get people intrigued and interested. Sure it's painfully good to watch... but for people who know nothing about IM, they may be interested and he's the first guy they have ever seen. But then again, I love watching terrible DM ads, the "shocked" faces, and the amazing transformations. My wife can't stand it, but I just sit and laugh at the faces they pull and the awesome voice overs... Check out the "revo-styler" and check out the disclaimer that you need to use it on the "slow" mode for at least the first 2 weeks to avoid ripping out your hair. Hilarious - sorry if I'm going off topic, I really did love this post and watched Frank Kern's Double for about ten minutes (couldn't take it when he 'bumped' into the guy on the beach though'! |

I think it is brilliant. Whoever did this has been doing their homework and profiling their targets. If they can reach those people, I can see it doing very well. I like it. The reasons are many but here are 4 of them: 1) I agree he looks like a fattening, hung-over schmuck without a clue. Which is exactly what your sub-average Joe looks like. Click! 2) Targeting the sub-average Joes will keep refunds low because it will take a lot of time for them to digest the info, and pride forbids admitting defeat. If the schmuck in the video who looks like me can do it, so can I. Click! 3) The poor acting reinforces the impression that this really is the dude who just got rich and hasn't really learned to drive the fancy cars just yet. So.. it could be true right? Click! 4) A LOT of people self-dummyfy themselves and the marketing material is also self-dummyfying. Click! Almost hard to tell if it is a joke or not but seriously, self-imposed losers will buy this even knowing it probably sucks. |
