From Tim Ferriss's ("The Four Hour Work Week") blog...an interview with Mike Geary.

Mike Geary's "The Truth About Abs" does $1 million in revenue per month.

Another big mistake is not split testing enough variations of ads. Many advertisers give up on losing campaigns after testing only a couple ad creatives. However, I’ve found that simple modifications — such as a one word variation in a headline or a slightly different image or background color — can be the difference between a losing campaign and a profitable campaign. In some instances, I’ve used the exact same ad text combined with slightly different pictures and seen DOUBLE the click-through rate (CTR).

That was a pretty interesting interview, and it clearly illustrates the very different economics of internet-based businesses compared to offline direct mail.

This is a great MARKETING story. Most marketers don't persevere
until they reach this level. They give up too easily.

Once you have a winning product and can throw a ton of traffic
at it then the rest is history.

Yeah the TAA clickbank product has been at the top for years now. Mike Geary is truly one of the pioneers when it comes to taking care of his affiliates with tons of content and banners and email swipes, etc to use for your campaigns.

When you write copy for someone like Geary, how involved in the tweaking and testing aspects are you after you have delivered the first draft copy?

Or do you leave all the tweaking etc to he client?

you gotta do rewrites.... dont think anyone hits a home run right outta the gate... geary's doing cold traffic... totally different ballgame than email/jv traffic.

Dave, do you also do cold traffic? Display media buys etc? Or are you more JV / email focused?

I really enjoyed this interview.

Brought a lot of things I already know home to my heart.

I've been late getting into weight loss, even though I've been publishing about health since 2007, but it's good to know that the hard work can, and will pay off eventually.

With an ideal client, very involved. The smart ones treat me as a partner in their business. The not so smart don't share metrics and change the copy behind my back - and I friggin' hate that. Makes me go all "Downfall" - if you know what I mean.

Thanks for sharing that interview. Very impressive how much he (Mike) grew his business in just 5 or 6 years. Plus I wonder if he would have had that much success if he hadn't offered the max commission on Clickbank. Either way he's a very smart business man.
