Stansberry's New 'Obama Third Term' Copy

Just heard Stansberry's crazy effective radio spot.

It aired on a large FM Talk station (:60) in my area, and
drove people to:

The landing page is a VSL that's a case study in direct response.

Close the page and there's a OTO and DSO that appear also.

Warriors, this isn't fancy graphics and heavy images, but study
how GOOD the copy is.

Amen. I printed out the first version of his "End of America" letter over a year ago. That letter KILLED it. I agree... no fancy graphics, black and white copy. That's always worked best for me.

Bold, bold claims.

The copy isn't amazing by any means.

Don't get me wrong.

It's good.

But what makes the copy so compelling is the message.

If we're really on the verge of the next big oil boom, which I've been hearing for over a year now, it will have HUGE political implications.

Shale oil could very well rewrite human AND planetary history - instead of America leading the way in alternative sources of energy.

Will this be good for the economy?

Yes.

Will this be good for the planet?

No.

Maybe I'll have to make a video on the environmental implications that the shale oil field discoveries create...

...and poise a question:

Die in prosperity?

Or...

Live in innovation?

I'm only half an hour in.

Maybe they already do that.

Yeah this is a great copy...The only issue is that its WAY to freaking long.

I would of actually bought this because I am really interested in oil right now...But theres no buy button and I have been letting it run for almost 30 minutes now

Its like...Hey...Okay let me see what you got....Oh wait sorry I dont have a hour to listen to your sales pitch...later

Absolutely!

The problem is...

A lot of entrepreneurs don't have access to a message this compelling.

Very, very few business owners can make claims this fantastic.

They have to contrive the consequence.

Or...

They utterly fail to see the deeper message behind their opportunity.

I will say this:

I would love to have written this latest Stansberry video.

I'm seeing places I could have made the message far more compelling and to the point.

I think he's right about Obama. But I'm not sure about the resources he's talking about.

Doesn't mean it won't happen.

Opinions don't matter much guys. You can bet 1,000% if this is running, Porter has tested it to be the control... defined as it CONVERTS. A reminder to us all: who gives a flip if you think it's too long or controversial. TEST it to your audience for conversion!

Surely you can't be that interested.

If you were you'd realise that when you try to leave it gives you the option to stay on the page and go to a written version...

They test the drop down of the order form. I know this from some insiders. So if it's not popping near the end, etc. it's bc that's where they get their highest conversions.

I think you are missing something here...

This ad is tailored to the talk radio crowd...think, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, etc. They don't give a hoot, or even believe in global warming. They do not share the same objection that you do.

given a new introduction each time to fit with the current
news--to get attention.

The first letter I read used Canadian tar sands as the
basis for its argument. So this can be considered
a control and well worth the study if you are writing
for the investment marketplace.

Do you have any reference to that letter? A quick google search only brought up current events ... including the controversy going on about the tar sands development .

You are referring to the general structure of the letter?

I have heard at least one other similar. Probably two.

That's right the structure of the letter although most investment
type letters have a similar structure.

But the first letter was about all the reserve of oil to be found
in the tar sands in Canada and America and the great investment
opportunity which was open to those who acted now.

On the bright side, ecologically speaking, London recovered from the black clouds of the coal burning stoves that most people used around the turn of the century. Have faith in science to overcome as the technology and markets are ready. According to an engineer friend of mine, guys he went to college with are close to harnessing huge amounts - as in nationwide huge -of electricity from about a 1/4 inch of the surface of Lake Michigan.

As for the thread topic, because this copy is compelling, it would be interesting to read what you would have written. I mean that as a compliment as you seem to be a good thinker.

Also, I do not usually have the attention span or time for the long videos, and hate the videos you can't at least pause, and wonder what would happen to conversions if you could pause and rewind such videos to hear a point again. And, I wonder what would happen to conversions if there were an obvious link to a PDF version one could access immediately - particularly for sales copy which has training or resources I want to read and highlight and check out for more more research.
