Default Clayton Makepeace- Desktop copy

Just wondering if anyone has purchased this product from Clayton Makepeace. The product name is The Ultimate Desktop Copy Coach. If so would you recommend it and why do you think it is better or provides more value than similar copy products on the market. Perhaps someone could recommend another copy course they are currently using. John Carelton has been promoting his Simple Writing System a lot lately.

Thanks

Todd

I've purchased this and found it to be incredibly good - more so than the AWAI course. I haven't gone through Carlton's course though, but I wouldn't hesitate to get The Ultimate Desktop Copy Coach, well worth the $1000 if you sell any kind of product or want to make a living out of copywriting.

What makes a "course" a course is the price these days. I am
not saying there aren't some good courses out there - but if
you haven't spent $400 and several months reading the classic
copywriting books you are missing out on the foundations of
the craft.

So if you've read the books, get the courses if you feel you need
'em. If you haven't read the books... well, most courses will just
tell you to read 'em too.

I mostly agree with Loren. Reading the classic copywriting books will give a solid foundation and you can pick up many of them for less than $400 total.

That said, a good chunk of Clayton's course is the same content that used to be in his paid print newsletter (since discontinued b/c he was having trouble finding the time to write or even edit it) called EasyWriters Club. The newsletters were simply awesome.

You might be able to pick up back issues of it by calling Clayton's office but expect to pay $65-75 per issue for them. The issues were usually written by Tony Flores & Clayton -- just like the course.

I don't own the course but I own every issue of EasyWriters and Clayton's $7500 DVD set, so I've never felt the need to buy the course as well.

A few years ago, Clayton posted on his blog a free PDF copy of the very first issue of EasyWriters which gives you 20 ways to write powerful bullets.

Here's a link to it:

The art and science of writing bullet and fascination copy | The Total Package

You should be able to get an idea of their writing style and if you feel it's one that you can follow easily. If you don't like the writing style, then you won't want to grab the course.

Good luck,

Mike

Spend $13 on Vic Schwab's How to Write a Good Advertisement before you start spending thousands on "courses."

Looks like this particular product is no longer available. The The Total Package site is still well worth visiting, though!
