Thanks for posting this! Infographics are going to be huge ranking factor for SEO in 2013. I think Google is moving away from links and more towards excellent content. Things are changing, better get on board.

This is one area where I feel some people are behind on the times. Infographics is more of a 2012 trend. In other words, it has already started. The thing is, there are so many topics online without good infographics that if you're the first to create one and somehow link it to you or your business, you could see increased customers/prospects.

In my interview with Neil Patel below, we discuss infographics. Starting at around 7:35.

The caution he wants to get across is that SIX images or ideas in your infographic are the max; you want to paint a picture, not overwhelm them with data.

Thanks for the tools! They're awesome!

In addition to investing in infographics, I think it's important to invest in a wide variety of content (images, video, audio, etc). There are so many ways to get content out there and infographics is just one way.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone! I'm a firm believer in the benefit of infographics for SEO purposes. However, it is important to increase the effectiveness of them by ensuring they get shared.   I agree that Infograhics can be huge as mentioned above and have been going now for some time. If you look Google Trends you'll see massive jumps in the popularity occurred at the end of 2011.
  
  Using them through Social Media sites will really help with your SEO but as they are graphics you need to make sure you use the Social Media site correctly to make this work.
