Default Choosing a CopyWriter in the $2k-3k range. Who would you recommend?

About to launch a niche product outside of MMO. Looking for a copywriter that can blow the doors off any niche and land me a 3% or better conversion rate in the $2k-$3k range.

Who would you recommend?

Brian...

I'm not going to lambaste you for your post. You're asking a serious question. But think about it for a second...

If a copywriter could blow the doors off any niche and guarantee you'll get 3% conversion... why would they be slumming it for $3K?

A copywriter who could do that would be able to name his/her price. And trust me it wouldn't be 4 figures long.

That's not a dig but come on...

I have students who make twice or three times what you're offering and they can't blow the doors off every niche. Hell... I taught them and I can't even do that. I have my kick ass niches... but it's certainly not all of em.

And... as I'm sure you'll hear in this thread (or would learn if you just searched this subject on the board) no copywriter alone can get you any conversion rate. The product has to be great... the traffic has to be targeted... the fruit must be ripe for the picking... and then when that's all done, the copy has to be smoking.

So... while I know you didn't come in here trying to stir up some angry CW... you might want to ask for something more realistic.

In fact, here's a rewording of your post. You can use it and maybe get some decent prospective writers.

------------

The Next John Carlton? David Garfinkel? Joe Sugarman?

In a couple months I'll be launching a brand new niche product. It's a great product... in a hungry... largely untapped market outside of the get rich quick genre.

Also... I've lined up some amazing JV partners who will really give this a push...

So, I'm seeking a proven, but still hungry copywriter.

Someone who comes with references I can actually check. Someone who has had results. And by results I mean "made money for clients."

I'm looking for that rare find. An immensely talented and dedicated copywriter who just hasn't had his/her "Name Making" launch yet... The "$100,000.00 day"... The "Million Dollar Week"...

Someone that writes that well... but is still waiting for their big break to raise their prices...

I say this because the maximum I have to spend is $3,000. That may seem cheap to some of you, but it's all I can spend on this right now. I completely understand that world class copy doesn't come cheap. So... I'm not looking for a world class copywriter...

I'm looking for someone on the verge of being world class!

I want to help you reach that plateau!

So... if you think you can blow the doors off this niche, and are still looking for that one letter that turns you from merely talented to "Holy Crap He's a Genius"... contact me asap.

But don't contact me if you're a discount copywriter who pumps out the same old copy for each letter... If you're used to slap dashing together something that resembles copy but doesn't persuade people to pull out wallets... don't waste your time or mine. You're not who I'm looking for.

This letter needs to be spectacular. For me... and for you.

The reason I said earlier that I was launching in a couple months is because I know that any talented copywriter who makes money for clients is going to be booked at least a month in advance. So... giving you nearly 2 months means you have time to finish up what you're working on and time to work hard on my letter.

I'm making this request now so I'm not forced to go with whomever is available.

If you're willing to work with me for at least a couple weeks, making this letter truly sell well... and are willing to have that letter scrutinized in a public forum, write back to me with samples... at least one reference from a known Warrior... and your rates.

Remember... I'm working hard on my end.

A great product to sell...

And...

Amazing Partners to make sure your letter is seen by everyone...

There's only 1 thing missing...

A copywriter willing to work just as hard to build up his/her name and ultimately the rates they charge.

Are you this Copywriter?

70 minutes after the o.p. you produced this? "Impressed" doesn't even begin to describe it.

You're very, very, very good.

I'm not gonna hold a gun to anyone's head and ask for 3% in ANY niche, obviously. But I'd think there's plenty of good copy writers able to work in that range for a simple clickbank sales letter.

Oh, and I would have written a post like the one you suggested, but then I probably wouldn't need a copy writer now would I? =)

Anyhow, thanks for the constructive criticism

No copywriter excels at writing copy at every niche. No one.

Here's a question that is just as important: Is your product and niche something that the copywriter is truly interested in... or is it "just a paycheck"?

You see, if your copywriter is enthusiastic... maybe even passionate about your niche and your product... then they can write some smoking good copy. If they find it as exciting as watching paint dry... well, let's just say they are going to work overtime to drum up the energy and passion needed for your sales letter.

A budget of $2-3K is respectable but it *could* limit your options on who will consider your project. One option to expand your options can be to offer an ongoing royalty in addition to your stated budget.

Biggest reason for doing so is you will be hiring a copywriter who will be equally motivated to do further testing and tweaking on your sales letter to maximize conversion rates. After all, the higher the conversion rates, the more money they'll make.

Can you tell me what niche your product would be in? That would make it immensely easier to give you a recommendation.

Thanks,

Mike

Actually just hired a writer yesterday. Sorry for not updating this post faster, and thanks to all who sent PM's.

What I was actually looking for was more of a good reference list of names from people in the industry. For example, if I asked for a list of the BEST copywriters, it'd probably be a list of people like Vin monetello, john carlton, etc, etc...

Was looking more for a good list of names of reliable copywriters who might not exactly be Vin Montello, but could hold their weight.

Would be a good little rolodex of names to have in this thread for reference.

Not to reopen the can of worms but that's exactly what my rewrite was trying to find for you. Up and comers... Talented yet undiscovered writers...

Anyway... congrats on finding them.
