Default Req: Feedback on Link Cloaking Software Page (Please)

Hello,

Does WF have a Feedback/Review topic? I couldn't find one, so I posted here as a close second.

Here is my landing page that I could use some feedback on:

Stealth Links Pro

The software product is an affiliate link manager / link cloaker that I've written.

The product has only been live for about 3 days, but the PPC conversions are horrible!! (close to 0%, but only 200 visits)

Are there any glaring mistakes that you see on my landing page that would be killing sales?

It certainly isn't the best sales page, but is it really the worst ?!?!

Any feedback suggestions are welcome.

Please and Thank You!

Matt

I just took a quick glance...

The headline isn't great, it kind of raises the "Oh, here's another BS product" detectors.

Also, you have competition. A lot of competition.

I never understood why people buy link cloaking software when you can use php redirects for free (and it takes about 20 seconds to learn how)... And I may be mistaken but I think there are similar products on the market that are either free or at least cheaper.

I also don't like the design of the site...

I also don't understand some aspects of the product... Like affiliate management.

You say it tracks clicks, does it track conversions? What does "complete management" mean?

Your page does very little to explain what makes your product unique or different, and it has nothing that compels me to buy.

You have maybe 300-500 words of text trying to sell a $50 product... I suggest some thorough review of your market and your competition, then find your USP, and then write some copy that actually motivates people to buy.

Hope that helps, and don't take it personally.

Thanks!

-Scott

I know what you mean Scott but Matt... don't let that put you off. You just have to make a product and a sales letter better than the rest

The headline needs to be more specific I think, "secrets to affiliate marketing success"? Too vague, every product out there is promising this.

Think about educating your reader. A lot of newbies won't even know why they should cloak their links.

Also... lots of features but few benefits. Why do I want short urls? Why do I want to track links? What's the benefit to me?

And on the headline below the first graphic... it says "link clocking"!

Matt had some great points.

Here's something else to consider...

Since copy is not your strong point--and if you don't have the budget to hire a professional--try this... (and I'd do this even if you DO hire someone to write the copy for you)...

Do a video(s) or screen cast that shows the software in use. Software is a very visual thing. If I'm going to spend money on software, I want to see it in action. I don't necessarily need to read a sales letter on it, but I DO need to SEE it. SHOW me (and tell me) SPECIFICALLY what it does for me. Believe me, if the benefits are powerful enough it will make an emotional connection.

Think of how very successful software companies sell their product. They pretty much all have videos. They're powerful and they work.

Also... consider offering the software in a trial version as a free download that expires in 30 days. (Many top software companies do this. It allows the buyer to test it out and see the benefits for himself before committing to buy.) It's a great risk-reversing tactic.

I agree with ProCopyWriter, you should consider a video to better explain how this software works.

However, in regards to your copy, here are a few things to consider:

Your headline is that a Rocket Scientist unlocked the secrets to Affiliate Marketing success. Is this a realistic headline? Did this actually happen? If so, I want to see a picture of this guy, smiling, waving at me, with wads of cash in his hands at the playboy mansion.

Otherwise, it's not realistic, and the reader will click off the site before you have a chance to show off your great features.

If you were to put a video somewhere, I would put it at the top of the screen where that big computer screen is, just to the right of the pointing red arrow.

I would use a white background for the squeeze page, as the gray does not fit very well.

The part after "look at what you can get"...
  • Your Own URL Shortening Service
  • Affiliate Management
  • Link Cloaking
The arrows are pointing to the center, but the bullets are to the left. This is awkward.

Sorry, I feel I am critiquing the design here.

"$47 is an introductory price - it won-t last long!"

won-t should be won't...

... but more importantly you should expand on your p.s.'s to show the benefits. These look as if they are tacked on and really don't compel the reader to buy. The hyped up used car salesman language has got to go. lol

Hope this helps to start with.
