Arrow Which OTO scheme is better? .....

I got a question for those, who might have this tested

Which OTO scheme converts better:
--> Register --> Thankyou --> OTO
or
--> Register --> OTO

Really need a lot more information to give any kind of meaningful answer.

Like... where are these people coming from, how/what have you "sold" them (what are they expecting when they register), what the specific offer is, the copy used etc.

You can make both work, but I'd turn the "thankyou" into a presell for the OTO

Thought About Offline Consulting?
Fiona - $5,500 + $600/m 1st Week... Anthony - $7k + $594/m... Liz - $12k 1st Month...
Rob - $7k + $800/ 1st Month... Scott - $45,000 in 3m... 20/yo Jock 6-Figure Client 2nd Month
Don't you deserve the same unfair advantage?

I prefer this approach:

Register >> Thank you >> Confirm >> OTO

First, this is NOT what you're asking. I know that. I'm just sharing something.

I always thought the OTO comes after the money. But when I had no choice but to offer it right behind the first buy button, I assumed conversions would tank. They did not. I've converted almost 50% with it.

We do that at the company I work for. Although we've only done it a few times, you seem to always be looking at 30% - 50% on the OTO, give or take.

It seems people leave an awful lot of money on the table by not offering one.

One can only speculate, but I reckon after a customer has completed the first purchase, they've satisfied their buying urges. So it's hard to get them back in that mode...

Assuming others have similar test results as yourself. As far as I'm aware most up sells I've seen go Letter -> OTO -> Order.

Ok, what about free site, where user hasn’t purchased anything yet. So, isn’t it better to congratulate them and say thanks for registration and only after that try to sell them something? Or just skip all formalities and show OTO?

Dimitry, stop asking and start testing, man! Do one way for about 2 weeks and the other for about 2 weeks. Or do both at the exact same time on two different sites/pages. You'll get your final results. Split testing is important because not all products/niches are the same. People will respond according in certain niches so it's never a one size fits all scenario. Just go do some testing.

Hi Robin L.

I'm new to this also, but I think OTO means One Time Offer. It's a special offer you've put together that your visitor will see only once.

Best regards, Lee.

Close. It's actually "One-Time-Only" offer, but who cares. You get the point. Just use it.

If you hover your mouse over the word -- OTO -- the definition will come up
