I just built and started an article writing services website. The average time spent on the website is 6 minutes, but I am not converting at all. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone and everyone would look at my website and offer any and all advice. The website is Website Content Articles - Home I intend to offer many more services, and I want to change the color scheme in the future as I don't have the time to do it myself right now, and I don't have the money to have someone else do it for me. I also intend on changing the overall copy as I want to approach people from a different angle than I currently do. However, regardless of my future goals, right now I need to convert and make sales. I am charging a minimum of $15 an article on the website, while here in the forum I am charging much less. But I see many websites starting at $25 an article, so I don't know that price is the problem. We are working on samples to post on the website for people to read, and we know that would significantly improve things. But anyway, any and all advice is welcome and requested. Please look at it and let me know what we can do to improve our conversion rate from 0 to at least .0001% or something. |

Great feedback. Thank you very much. I am going to have to fix that. I have free articles we have written for people on the forum here with the stipulation that we would be able to post those on the website. We will have to get those posted ASAP. We are also going to post a trial offer or something of the sort with 1 - 5 articles as you mentioned as that seems to be a constant theme I hear from people. We really appreciate the feedback, thank you. |

Very average stuff and in some places, substandard. In your copy you make this statement: "Our unique process for creating custom content and articles is specifically designed to ensure the highest possible content quality, that you are seen as an expert in your market, and with completely unique information that makes you stand out from everyone else." The sentence is awkward. It should be broken into two sentences. You talk about 'unique information' making your client stand out from everyone else. What does that mean? Outside of new scientific discoveries there's very little unique information left in the world. You might be able to present info with a unique perspective or place it in a unique context, but unique info, I don't buy it. You've also got the word 'unique' all over the page. Get yourself a thesaurus and find another word, maybe definitive or distinctive. At least show your prospect you’re trying a little. In the following paragraph you've misspelled, thurough. It should be thorough. Having a misspelled word on a writing site is a major sin. If I were looking for a writer and he or she had a typo on his site, I’d simply assume he either doesn’t get it or doesn’t care. The sad thing is, these days more than half of your potential clients won’t even notice… Good luck. |

The writing on your home page is pretty bad. Sentences don't flow properly, and the idea isn't communicated very clearly. Is this the kind of quality I can expect in the articles you write for me? If so, I wouldn't even pay $5, let alone $15. I'd say that's your first problem. Sure, your copy isn't good, and as Tina mentioned you've got no samples (which are very, very important if you're a service based business)... but ultimately if you can't write, you've got no business being a content writer. -Dan |
