I thought these vintage ads were pretty neat!

A lot of them are cigarette ads (They even have babies on the one... talk about emotional marketing).

Offering a glass bottle filled with 7Up to a baby? A little disturbing. Wonder what modern pediatricians would say about the damage caused by that suggestion.

Good thing we have all 'evolved' in our marketing practices. Or, let's just hope the parents of those days didn't take the advertising suggestions all too seriously.

Times have certainly changed! (Thank the Lord!) "Blow in her face and she'll follow you anywhere"! I actually remember that ad. (Yes, I'm old.) But when those ads were in print the concepts were actually appealing, believe it or not. Although the baby with a bottle of 7Up is a bit over the top. The sexist ads are hilarious today, but in the 50s and 60s, they were based on common attitudes. Guess it just goes to show you that you need to keep up with the times if you want to sell to the public.
