Default Horrible Copywriting - How The Heck Does Stuff Sell?

It blows my mind how many bad examples of pitch pages there are...

I can't find any products to promote that have decently copywritten pages... only a handfull of products I feel comfortable offering to my lists...

It's frustrating that there are some excellent products that I offer to my lists but they don't buy because of horrible illegible copy...

Seriously... does stuff really convert???

Right now there are only 4 products I recommend to my subscribers that I plug into my autoresponder in sequence...

My lists buy all of them and then stop!

Because nothing else I send them can keep their attention!

I want to know if a bad sales page can still sell...

Your thoughts please...

This is why it would be a great thing for you to learn how to write copy. Find those great products with crappy pages and write your own... throw in your hoplink and clean up.

Maybe. It would need to be read by well-targeted prospects and be making a great offer. Then it would have a shot at converting.

Vin's suggestion is a good one as well and it works very well with Clickbank products.

I appreciate your dilemma. It confirms for me that copywriting is a skill I am smart to develop. I get so bogged down with stuff I haven't set the time aside to really learn and develop my copywriting skills. Any suggestions on where to start other than reading other sales pages?

My autoresponder e-mails are very good. It's just when people click on the link and go to the product page that's when they get discouraged. There is no way I can bypass the pitch page though

You can if it's a Clickbank product. Here's a great article by Michel Fortin that tells you how.

Good luck,

Mike

Looks like a great article; I'll read it; thank you

The thing about linking directly to payment processing ( I knew about it) but it does not set cookies if cookies were previously set on this same computer, thus the previous affiliate if there was one will get the commission

Yeah, you better make sure!

I realized recently that in one of my edited clickbank page didn't work. I guess I never tested it properly 6 months ago. I set it and forget it and was still getting 20+ optins a day... who knows how many hundreds upon hundreds of sales I missed

But that is how it goes... you live and learn and learn to live!

copywriting is not easy to master!

I guess you probably can still sell if you had a not so good copy but a great price! Some times it works! But sometimes not!

So, yes if you know how to get your aff link cookies, linking directly to payment processing is the best.

I'd suggest the same.

You need to redo the copy yourself, or then guide someone personally (maybe a freelance writer) to get it done. Maybe test this method by resending one of your really old products that you thought didn't do well because of the sales pitch quality.

I have faced tons of problems because of poorly written copy.

Hi,

Perhaps you could get in touch with the product owners and offer to rewrite their sales page. If you really like the product they offer, but just can't see an improvement in their sales copy (or they just aren't interested) perhaps you could negotiate to link directly to their payment button. Most people use PayPal, or perhaps could, so it would not be difficult to put your own pay button.

Just a thought.
Best regards, Lee.
