any bored word smiths or copy people?

I ran week long sale to my existing customers. I just got around to
looking at the real numbers. It did over 21.4% better then normal.

I haven't looked at the page for a few weeks - maybe even a month

I want to know why it worked so well. The copy is not very compelling.
It breaks a dozen or so rules that I know of. I even spotted a few typos.

Anyway I am scratching my head and was wondering if anyone with
real knowledge could help me figure out why ... so i can duplicate it later.

If anyone wants to give it a look and tell me what they think, I will very much appreciate it.

Which one do you want, a word smith or a copywriter?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the difference was your offer. If the offer is solid, people will buy despite terrible copy.

Naturally, with some high-quality copy, your sales would increase all the more.

  • If you give people exactly what they want.

No great need to persuade, entice or compel.

They know what they want. And you offer it to them.

Chances are a good percentage will buy.

P.S. If I'm in the middle of nowhere, starving hungry and see a diner. Even if the gaff looks a bit run down, the menu is lacklustre, and the waitresses looks like old battle axes, providing I'm reasonably confident I won't get food poisoning I'll take a chance on the bacon, eggs and coffee.
