27 Copywriting Formulas to Jumpstart Your Copy

Today, Buffer posted an article containing 27 copywriting formulas.

While it's definitely intended for social media/Twitter, and though formulas are like training wheels you should try to grow out of as quickly as possible, I find reviewing formulas to be a good way to jumpstart my thinking.

Frankly, sometimes I get stumped when I'm trying to crack a project. Formulas like these help my mind think about different approaches and (usually) end up with a decent idea.

Now to create a great graphic like Ray Edwards so I can review all these at a glance...

Here's an earlier, and not entirely dissimilar, list from Rick.

That's from "Copywriting Clarity Maps" by Derek Franklin, he sold six infographics with PLR so they could be re-branded (the others are on headlines, sub-headlines, guarantees, USPs, and the power of three).

With all of these combined you have....CAPTAIN COPYWRITING. Or at least that's my ambition.

    Buy?

    My marketer dream...

Show what I have, let them buy.

Enough do so it is worth my while.

Then, when they buy, I will ask,

    Buy more?

All these other formulas hopefully, get me closer to the goal.

PS. Model? Cotton candy at a county fair, see the pink and blue faced urchins running around? There has been ZERO psychology, manipulation, persuasion or formula used on them. Buy? Enough do to make it worth while for the vendor. Some might say this is the Halbert formula, build your hamburger stand in the middle of a starving crowd. Perhaps?
