Just think, 10 years later we learned you "Can't touch this."

I'm not sure it gets it's point across. I certainly would'nt have gotten the meaning straight away without reading the paragraph.

You're not sure WHAT get its point across? The picture? The headline? The layout?

"Reach Out And Touch Someone" was very successful. Here's the story behind it:

Compare the pic in my OP to this: http://thephonebooth.com/booths/boot.../reach-out.jpg
I think both are great pictures (notice her ring). But look at the lines in the original. Mom looking down and to left (taking out 3D), dad looking down and to right, the line between the heads, the line of the phone cord (hahahaha) that points down too. It all creates a "visual funnel" that points down to the paragraph, which is sandwiched by the popular headline.

And that paragraph conveys feelings and emotions by telling a story.

Interestingly, if you do a google image search of "reach out and touch someone" you get lots of pics of snipers and nurse porn.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.
