Newbie looking to Write!

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm looking to get into writing webcopy and I need some sample work to put on my web page. This will be my first attempt at writing copy and as such I'm offering my services for the ridiculous price of FREE. I only am going to except the first few that ask for my service, then I'm going to evaluate whether this is something I want to take further or not. I'm interested in writing any kind of copy you may need. I would love to write some sales pages, some auto-responders, maybe some Facebook ads and some ad-word ads to be split tested. I'm new to this so any instructions you can give me into specifically what your looking for would be best. Also if you have the product already ready for market and I could see it, that would also be highly beneficial. Hope to hear from some of you regarding this. This is not some trick to get subscribers to a list either. I'm really looking to build a portfolio I can be proud of. I can be reached by email at justin@justindmiller.net.

Thanks in advance,
Justin Miller

Know the dif betw "except" and "accept" and people might take you more seriously. That being said, try writing for your own products first. Most people can write like a newbie for themselves!

Free ain't free when it comes to copywriting. Free copy can actually cost a marketer -- in time, headache, wasted list costs, wasted design costs, and reputation.

Not only are you posting in the wrong place, but based on what you've written, free is far too high a price for you.

EDIT - You beat me to it, SplitTest.

      Second this.

To clarify: the copywriting forum is a place full of copywriters. Most of the time (with the exception of subcontracting or a more experienced writer taking on an apprentice), we do not need someone else to write copy for us for free or any other price out there.

      Some advice:
Actually read the forum before posting to get a feel for it. This is not true of just this forum, but generally all forums. Most standing members seriously dislike a newb coming in and making it all about them without taking the time to learn what the community is all about. Once they know, like, and trust you, they don't tend to rebel and/or flame as much if you get a bit self-promotional.

Find something to differentiate yourself besides "I'll do it for free". That angle is tried by every goddamn new copywriter from here to Timbuktu, and I guarantee all you'll get for it is bottom-feeder, soul-sucking clients and a monster headache.

Study the craft. Find your market instead of trying to catch every fish in the sea.

      Then TRY AGAIN.

Yes, you beat me to it, too. glaring mistakes make people NOT want to hire you, despite the "free" price tag and posting in the wrong section.
