What Do You Think About Barbara Corcoran's Email?

I thought the email Barbara Corcoran wrote to Mark Barnett to get on Shark Tank was pretty cool.

What do you think? Start watching at: 11:22

    Nothing all that special.

    But here's the thing...

According to Barbara, the producers had 15 signed contracts in place. Of the 10 who were sent a rejection letter, she was the only one who replied asking for reconsideration.

    Persistence won the day.

You can't hit a home run if you don't step up to the plate.

    Alex,
I thought the way she said it was pretty cool. I don't know if you watched the whole conversation, but what you said about persistence was pretty much her theme. The one line she used that I liked earlier on in the video was,

" If you keep getting up without feeling sorry for yourself, you'll always cross the finish line."

    I liked that the most.

    God Bless!

Yes, she has an excellent attitude. I find it (and her) very inspiring.

That was an amazing speech. I listened to the whole thing.

Funny thing is there's a whole generation coming into their own that doesn't know how to fail. That thinks a step backwards means falling into the abyss.

I love it when people like her stand up and say, "everything I have is because I never stopped ******* up, and I never stopped GETTING BACK UP after ******* up".

That's my life philosophy these days. Everything's a step in the right direction, even if it's a temporary step backwards.

      Ms. Angie,

Tel me about it. I'm a technology teacher, If kids can't get something right in 5 minutes or less they give up. I played that clip for my 12th grade Business Math class and they acted like she was just another old person with a weird philosophy of life or something.

One day they'll hopefully come to realize that none of those times they failed ever killed them. And that there is truth to old adages like "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" for a reason.
