A note of sympathy and condolence for Michel Fortin. His wife Sylvie passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

I Died Today - Michel Fortin

I don't know Michel but have read his copywriting material for a while and learned a ton. He's a gifted writer and they seemed to be a great team. He wrote often about her struggle and how they were coping. I know that situation well. RIP Sylvie Fortin.

I'm deeply saddened to learn about Sylvie's death... what a tough, inspiring woman.

The way Michel and Sylvie loved, lived and worked with each other is a model we can all learn from.

My mom was diagnosed with aggressive, invasive breast cancer in the mid 2000's, as Sylvie was...

Bilateral mastectomy, long and arduous follow up treatments, all of it.

I've read and followed Sylvie's progress and updates as I've lived through my Mom's. And while nothing compared to Michel's loss, it's palpable to me today.

I'm feeling a little guilty that I've taken for granted how different the outcome is for so many others who don't deserve what the monster of cancer does to them and their families.

Our own Ken Strong comes vividly to mind.

Tell your mom or your dad, your wife or your husband, your partner or your new squeeze what they mean to you. Do it today.

    With respect,

    Brian McLeod

    My heart breaks for Michel....

I've known of him since 2001 when I started and
got SO much value from him and his critiques.

When he met Sylvie... you could just tell the happiness he felt, because he
shared it in his emails and on his blog.

And Brian... your words rang so true for me.

I was recently diagnosed with skin cancer a few months back, and since it
was such an aggressive form... I had to go in for several surgeries.

The funny thing is... I never once thought "oh why me" or "oh woe is me".

Instead, I thought of my wife and sons and thought "Let's go, time to kick some
    ass"

Ever since my last surgery a month back... there's never a day that goes
by where I don't tell my wife and kids that I love them 20 to 30 times a day.

I didn't mean ANY of this thread to be about me... because my heart aches
    for Michel.

But what Brian wrote compelled me to say something.... because after my
diagnosis... my kids are getting a bit sick of all the hugs and "I love yous"
    they get from me.....

He shared his love story with us from their beginning, and throughout the years; the trials, triumphs and times they shared were the best of Michael's wordsmithing. She was not only his muse, but an inspiration to us all. Sylvie will be missed and remembered.

I've only met Michel and Sylvie once in person about 10 years ago
at a seminar in Atlanta, but it's as if they are family. From the old
copywriters' board/forum and his blog and FB post, they have
shared so much of their lives and inspired so many.

I've never once read a negative comment about Michel online.

I think of him as the "Mr Congeniality" of Internet Marketing.

It's as if my sister-in-law died. I really feel deeply for your loss
Michel, knowing how much you celebrated your marriage to
    Sylvie.

But even though time seems to stop right now and reality seems
unreal, the sun will shine again. You will go on because you have
a story and a legacy to keep sharing in an incredible life and
    business partner.

You are in my prayers Michel.

Michel and Sylvie's love was like no other. Truly amazing.

Sylvie is with God now... experiencing His glorious presence apart from the confines of her body.

Michel, may God's peace and love surround you and comfort you during this difficult time.

I just read the article "I died today" and it was so touching. It is really difficult to find a person with whom you can go through the whole journey and it is sad when that someone leaves you alone. Rest in Piece Sylvie.

Sylvie was an inspiration -- she and Michel have been an outstanding team, and it's a true loss to hear of her passing. Craig's thoughts are heartfelt; thanks for sharing them. Their teamwork inspired me for years, a great example of two people together in love, life and business. Sylvie once gave me great advice which I took to heart. I'm sorry to hear the news, and wish you the best, Michel.
