From where do you get clients?

Wait, you want to know where to find clients, and you'll be outsourcing the actual work?

Sounds like the skill you're trying bank on is finding clients. If you're not even sure of where to start, you might want to reconsider your business plan.

But if you're set on it, look through the stickies. Lots of methods of getting clients there - a few of which I used to start my career a few years ago.

I got my first two "clients" (which were jobs, but I worked as an independent contractor) by keeping an active presence in some business groups. One was a Facebook group, where somebody posted offering a copywriting job for a startup, another was a guy I'd done a screenwriting masterclass with, who had a day job as a marketing director.

The takeaway here is that just because copywriting happens online, don't ignore the offline world. Making real connections with people has gotten me all of my favorite gigs. The key is that I'm upfront, I offer value, and I don't have an ulterior motive for getting to know people - I either say I value them as a business connection, or I honestly just enjoy knowing the person, and if something happens from it, great! If not, I still know a cool person.

Honestly, I've build my portfolio and got most of my clients through posting valuable content, Offering valuable content on my website, And having people reach out to me and connect with me through posting on this WF lol. It really does work wonders.

It's not so much how much you should charge, but much more how much your customer perceives you're worth.

You can get sales letters written for $100, Or you can get them written for $1 million dollars. Quite simply, you need to either be really good at what you do, And blow people away with your content, Or you need to have a portfolio that looks really good on paper.

Either way, what it comes down to is you need to have it were your customers perceive that your work is valuable, successful, wanted, and desired.
