The most powerful email subject line word ...

One of the most powerful words you can use in an email subject line
is the word "this". If you want your emails opened use that word
often. This wouldn't sell your product, but at least improve the
open rate for you emails and autoresponder series.

Of course the real power of the word is that it builds curiosity as to
what "this" is. So headlines such as ...

        Check this out ...
        This really surprised me ...
        Did you get this?
Why everybody is talking about this ...

        etc. ...

I tried to sign up for your program, but no matter what I do, I cannot get the letters in the little box to work. They are clearly upper case letters with numbers, but no matter what I do, I always get an error. What am I doing wrong?

I thought of it after I hit the submit button and knew that I was going to
be called out on mt failure, so I'm not surprised by the comment.

Side note: I got two email from Rich Shefren today and both had "this" in
      the subject line.

Are you using this email subject line secret?

firstname, did you miss this web design secret?

5 pay per click secrets...This is the most important.

It can be a useful word.

Free can be handy but I wouldn't use it in an email because it's likely to trigger spam filters and get your emails dropped by ISPs.

        Kindest regards,

I could be wrong (Harlan could prolly tell me) -- I think that "this" is called an "unspecified referential index." Not that you need to know that in order to use it.

Sheesh. What I get for attempting to plow through "Structure of Magic."
